Default Fast 90mm Intake

Does anyone have one of these installed on their C6 and how have they felt about the perfomance gains. In AZ it seems to be one of the hot items the one shop that modifies these cars seems to do first along with exhaust and tune.

The guys that do all my performance work recommended the FAST intake since I was doing cam, headers, x-pipe, cats, and exhaust. I went with the LPE cai and the FAST intake together and, if I remember correctly, got something like 26 rwhp so I was pleased. I do know though that alot of guys are just porting their stock intakes and it does the same thing as the FAST because that is essentially what the FAST intake is. I like it. It creates a little more engine noise but not bad or anything. I think Lingenfelter uses that combo on their cars alot.

You can get a fast intake, firewall kit, and map sensor relocate kit from
LPE or 21st Century Muscle cars. Porting your stock intake is a waist of time. Realy a fast intake without heads and cam in my opinion isnt worth the money and you wont see the full potential of the intake until you have at least a cam.

if you are NOT going to do heads or/and cam the ported stock intake will get you around 10hp vs 20hp at the most with the fast for around $1000. if you are do cam / heads the fast will get you even more.

I cannot say this strongly enough: good as this intake is, you will only see 1/2 its potential if you throw it on as is. So yes, get the FAST, but work it for all its got. I spent 5-6 hours on mine with a dremel working the area 1 inch in from the ports, as well as the runners. I never ported anything before, but the work needed became obvious once I took off the top piece. The plenum is good to go and that's where the power comes from. No ported stocker will ever achive that kind of plenum and that's why they get only half way to a stock FAST power-wise (7 HP vs stock FAST 15 or so). OEM port area is in fact better than stock FAST. Notice that intake porters like C85 Harris and others like Tony Mamo refer to a "ported FAST". There is a good reason for that. Also note that this is NOT to be confused with enlarging the port area. That is not what we are talking about here.

I am not sure what did what, but with 1.75 catted Kooks, stock catback, 1.85 roller rockers, CAI, FAST, and ported TB, I got 427 RWHP, up from 455 bone stock. Torque was right there with it. So it works. I think Tony Mamo got near 500RWHP with AFRs, 224/228 cam, ported FAST, headers, and tune.

This intake can do a lot for you, but you have to work it.

I have the Fast 90 mm composite intake manifold as a part of my Lingenfelter 403 package conversion. I can't isolate just the effects of the fast intake but I can assure you, as a component of the total modifications I have done it's been great. My car blasts!

I'd suggest you call John Page at 21st Century Muscle Cars #1.972.417.7177. He's a great guy to work with both professionally and personally. They do awesome work.

i really wish that they had not cast the fast name on the intake(for warantee's sake). its a major draw back imo. why couldnt they make it look like stock and with 100,000 C6's on the road, why cant they make a C6 specific unit? add this all this to the high price and i dont think its worth it when you can port the original.

I haven't heard of anyone being denied warranty because a FAST only was installed, have you?

i have heard worse...that they denied warantee because of headers.

the fast tells the dealer you have been in the motor and if its a drivetrain problem, its possible they make this an issue.

i know there are mod friendly dealers, but there are *******s too

very nice numbers. would you say this is very typical of the gains with just a header or is the example one of the higher yeilding cases?

either way, im not saying it doesnt produce good numbers
