mti has had that package out for several years now. I sat in the yellow 7.0 liter very soon after it was completed. the car was very nice and made excellent power. however, with all the factory 427s running around these days, I don't see a devil ray selling for 70 used today. especially after they elapse that 24 month warranty. what does someone do in kentucky if you have an issue during warranty coverage? where do you take it? flatbed back to houston?
If you don't like? don't buy it...No need to brake the mans stones, over & over about re-sale, hell we've already been over that countless times, we know, now move on...

I don't even get why you'd think he'd have the delussion his car will sell for 70k.

what? I didn't post that about 70 resale. he did.

I find it aweful hilarious that several posts here have in great detail explained the costs involved on why a modded c6 is better than a c6z. then someone tries to throw in the factor of resale to complete the picture and all of a sudden that's offensive and been hashed out before?? hello pot, meet kettle

We all know the modded C6 will not hold the value like a Z06. That being said, the modded C6 is just less expensive and faster.

You need to slow down and read first.

YOU asked : "have you seen someone try and sell a "devilray" packaged car and did they recoup any of that money over a base c6 car?"

I answered: "I have only seen 1 Devilray sold and it went for $70K - close to recoup costs, but in truth I don't plan to sell and if I did I would be prepared to lose most/all of the conversion costs. This is a fun car - not an investment for me. The money I have spent on it was disposable and was done to make the car more enjoyable for me only."

I thought I answered your question clearly and then clarified that I treat all of the mod money as disposable. I don't find your posts offensive. If the warranty and resale value is important enough to you to spend the $$ up front, good on ya. If you look further back in this thread, I only raised the $$ question in response to the Andreas G.question on "why not buy a Z06 to start with."

Relax man. We are all trying to get what we want and I am certainly not disparaging the Z06. It is great car. In 2005, I wanted a 600 hp 427 corvette with a removable roof. There was no Z06 at the time. There was a 427 devilray package. I found what I wanted. Based on the current pricing on the Z06, I would do it the same today. YMMV and obviously does.
