Default Widest tires?

I would like to know what the widest tires are that will easily fit on the 07 C6 without any rubbing or scrubbing, etc. I just can't believe that they've taken them down to 245 and 285. What can I fit?

Thanks in advance.

I'm not sure what you mean by "taken them down" since both the fronts and rear are lower profile than their C5 counterparts and the rears are also 10mm wider.

If you are limiting yourself to the stock wheels, you can really only go up one size (i.e., 255/40-18 & 295/35-19) w/o compromising handling or wear characteristics. For anything else, try the online Tire Size Calculator.

Ah well, I was under the impression that they had taken the widths down on the newer C6s.

So 10mm up max if I stay with stock rims?

What are my options for Autocross, width wise and rim wise?

Your choices are only limited by your wallet. CF wheels would be nice...

18x11 with 315's all around. Friend of mine (TJZ06) pulled these off his C5 Z0 and ran them on a C6 w/out rubbing. It's the setup i've been planning on running, too. i forgot the offset but i'm going to fit his 18x11 ccw's when he gets them in to run a test fit. Should be np as they've already run an autox with 315's on a C6 and I know a lot of people who do it on C5 Z0's.

What issues did you have with the tire pressure sensors not being on the car with the other wheels? Also, I have a set of 17X9.5 wheels with BFG DRs on them, would they fit the rear of a C6 with Z51 brakes? And, if so, how long before the TPS put the car into limp mode??

codename Bil Doe, can you tell us what your 18x11 wheel offsets are (front & rear)? Also, i've heard that the front to rear tire ratio of 1.2 is required to prevent the stability-control system from not working. What is your experience in this regard?

Experience on the C6 (not mine. It was another member's C6 A6) from the autox showed no problems with pressure sensors. I've read several people running without the sensors for short stints and not having problems. I think if you search you'll also see some people putting the stock rims/tires next to each corner on startup to get the readings. I don't remember any probs with stability control?

I'm pretty sure of what offset I want to go with but i'll wait for mounting my friend's rims and double checking for fitment before saying anything specific.

evilways - 17" rims will NOT fit over Z51 brakes.
