Sometimes the car cranks sometimes the car wont turn over..
Took the car to dealer and told them to check the starter. They said they did and blamed it on my twin turbos. So I get home and popped the hood and noticed that when car is running the starter cable where battery and alt connect is glowing orange. How did they not see that. All I want is a diagnostic so I can fix the problem. It doesnt glow all the time, just some of the time.
So the million dollar question is what is causing this???? This is a constant so if it is drawing power it should do it with the car off also.. Go figure.
I'm sure they saw your modified engine and don't want anything to do with it. Can you describe the wire that glows a little better. Exactly where is it? What does it connect too on each end?
Sounds like a problem I was having a few weeks ago. The dealer I took it to diagnosed it as a bad coolant sensor, after they replaced it the problem went away.
it is the bolt on the starter that glows orange. it is where the battery wire and the alt wire connect togather on the bolt on the starter. it only does it wjen the car is running and it only does it intermitenly. this is a constant hot wire so it should do it all the time. there is nothing on he starter that is an ignition wire so what the hell is going on?!?

No wire should be so hot that it glows. The starter could be bad or when your mod's were being done one of the mentioned wires could have been disturbed or nicked and have an inter-mitten ground or getting hot next to a header.
The car got twin turboed about a year ago.. Nothing since then. This just started about two days ago. The only other thing done was I installed a 10 inch sub about a month ago.

I bet the loads caused by the sub, maybe your problem.

GM dealers are trained and certifed to work on OEM product. Most dealers are not trained, nor do they have the documentation, and proper tools to work on/diagnoise a modified product. This is a disruption to their normal process and could affect their stall produtivity.
Dude, you must be freakin' about the fire hazzard. One reason I went w/ a new Vette over a vintage is just to not have to deal w/ my car catching fire every 5000 miles. Good luck fixing that bad boy.

It is amazing to me that people modify the hell out of the car and then want the dealer to understand what they have done and fix it.
