Default Installed Bilsteins Today

Today, I installed Bilstein shocks on my 2006 Z51 and then drove 75 miles including both 4 lane and country hardtop roads. Currently, I have no complaints. I was expecting a stiffer ride which is not the case. I also drained the transmission and replaced with Royal Purple Synchromax.

Did you notice a difference with the shocks? I was thinking of doing the same, but the local Sachs rep told me to keep the OE shocks. We do have to remember were he is coming from, Sachs is the OE supplier and Bilstein is the competitor.......

wise choice. bilstein is the best shock i have ever owned. i sold my $2000 mallet/penske shocks to get the $300 sports and was amazed at how nicely they controlled the car at any speed.

the 300k Ruf porsche 911 rides on the same shocks, so i guess they ae good enough for me

I did the same thing yesterday together with Z06 sway bars and today I got a wheel alignment. I noticed a difference from my base shocks and sway bars, night and day I could say. It's now stiffer and tighter, which in my opinion is great since I have the need to support the TTs.

off topic but i like how you posted a near identical pic of your widebody to the one you used to have(in your sig). its a nice statement for anyone who remembers your car before the mods started

Funny you mentioned it Shawn. And yes indeed, I have three seperate pictures with almost the exact same position. One is complete stock, other is with a bunch of mods, and this last one with the complete wide body mod.

Glad you like the shocks.

recently installed the Pfadt coil overs so I could lower the car without sacrificing ride.

Its amazing what some aftermarket products can do for your ride.

Did you install the HD or Sport shocks? I installed the Sports and think maybe I should have gone with the HD instead because they seem a little too stiff (mine is a Z51).
