Guys I have a C6 2005 Corvette. How do I figure out if it is a Precision Red or Victory Red. Please let me know if there is a website that accepts VIN numbers and is then able to give you the GM build sheet
The color code for Precision Red is 27U while the code for Victory Red is 74U. One of these numbers should be on the label located in the glovebox.
I am not sure of the exact date but I believe Precision Red was discontinued in 11/04. If your car was made after this date it should be Victory Red. The only way to know is to look at the paint code.

Lets continue on this build sheet issue. My 07 Z was built sometime in August. I believe that it may be an early edition, as I just had to change out axle boots and half shafts at 3500 mi. There may have been some other things that were carried over from the '06 parts inventory (Early August), based on some of the postings.
What exactly is on the build sheet and how does one get it.
I noticed on the TV auctions that the original "build sheet" is an important piece of the total package of paperwork.

No, Precision Red was discontinued in September of 04. I know because I had one ordered and had to change my order when my dealer didn't get his allocation in time.

I had the same question on mine. I simply called the main contact number for Chevy off the website. I gave them my vin and they told me what color it was within just a few minutes. It was funny though because the girl that read off the color had no clue and called it "VictoriA" red but at least I knew what she meant.

Any help will be appreciated.

The buildsheet is a form that is used by the assembly line to know what options to install on the car. You can order a build sheet from NCM or get lucky and find it in the car. Back in the 60's they used to stuff them in all kinds of different places, on the gas tank, under seats, under carpets, stuffed inside the frame, etc. The sticker in the glove box also has all the rpo codes used in your car. If you order from NCM they will know what options your car was built with from the vin.
