I'm buying this car for pure performance, so the bigger more powerful engine with the upgraded tranny is a no brainer. If you are just looking for a cool looking cruiser, you may not care so much about the upgrades.

Well, I guess in a way, we're paralleling each other. I just sold my LT4 (18K miles) and will wait to buy the '08. I'm not as worried about displacement on demand being a non-sports car/non-Corvette issue. Plus, even if only half the things get into production that are being tossed around here on the internet and CF, I'll be happy.
And one final thing: by then, '08, Chev will have had/be starting on the fourth model year to tweak and eliminate some of the little bugs, not that others can't pop up with new items included such as a man trans or engine management. I think it'll all be for the good! Can't wait.
