Hey Frank.... You have a hardened driver shaft....It's standard on all my rears....you don't need to ask for it...I won't build one without it.
Your case is not a C5 but an 06/07 C6 case......05 is all by itself and some guys prefer to use the mid section of the C5 rear in the 05 car as it takes a bit more abuse.
Excessive wheel hop will bust ANY rear.....but, heads and cam with 4.10's I would consider the passenger side axle...It's cheap insurance.

I agree with most of what you said, I all ways advise a drivers side shaft, but the passenger side is not necessary until you pass the 600 RWHP. And yes wheel hop will kill any rear.
One is form DJ Self's car which is an A4 Stage 2X heads, and cam with a Fast 90MM intake. The car was tuned a long time ago and ran 10.8's in 70 degree weather. If we retuned the car, it will run quicker, as there are more tables for performance and drivability.
The second is a Stage 4X heads with our Stage 3X cam on a M6. It made 490 RWHP.
BTW both cars have Kook's 1 3/4" headers with high flow cats.
