I took a short detour from my long line of GM products, I actually went and bought a 2006 Mustang GT vert. It was pretty cool, I put a saleen supercharger on it, and pulley'd it close to 500 HP. Well, I sold it today while the market is still good for that retro thing, now I am in the hunt for some genuine GM fun again. I am looking for any detailed technical references on any differences between the 05 06 and 07 coupes. Can anyone point me in the right direction?
btw, every day I drove the mustang, I wore my Chevrolet hat ...glad to be back.

Yes as Dennis stated, the most major changes in the three years thus far were the addition of the mighty Z06 model and the change from the 4L65E four speed automatic to the 6L80E six speed automatic for the LS2 cars in 2006.
Color and other minor trim changes came and went during the three model years.
They're all awesome cars and you really can't go wrong with buying any of them, used or new.
As posted above, very few tech changes between years other than the automatic trans. I believe there was also an increase in the diameter of a rear end part from 05 to 06 as well, for more strength.
Yes, they strengthened the rear end on the 06's. The 05's have the doughboy steering wheel, the 06's get the new three spoke steering wheel, and the 07 gets radio controls on the steering wheel.
You won't be disappointed with your return to GM, the new c6 is by far the most refined Corvette to date. I thought my old C4 drove nice until I drove a new C5, I thought that was cool. Then I got to drive the new C6 and a new Z06, to me there was as much difference between the C6 and C5 as there was between my old C4 and the C5. I am in the market for a new Z right now and as soon as I sell my C4 I will be making that big step. Besides I got to do it before the end of July, I am getting hitched and after that I doubt I will be able to plunk down 70k for a new Z
2005 manual transmission C6's have a Steering Column Lock requiring the car to be parked in reverse. Failure to do so will drain the battery as the computers will not shut down properly. All this went away in 2006, never to return!
Good info guys. I don's think I will wait for the 08's, they will not be selling those for less than invoice like the 07's. I will be looking for a deal on a remaining 07, or an 06 used. Guess I'll start trolling the for sale section....
