The 06 Z51 Coupe did this last week. Got it back from the dealer yesterday. They said it was a shorted wire in the "CONSOLE AREA" near the switch. We will see if it stays fixed!!
I guess my big dumb question is;
did anyone feel like the car is on old shocks? did it acually effect the ride.
like I said in my earlier post, it feels like an old cadillac right now. kinda boats down the road and the steering is not like it used to be as well......no resistance on the highway, just loose feeling. its hard to explain. but it doesnt feel like an 06 is supposed to......that feeling of owning a brilliant state of the art sports car
god I hate to lose it to the dealer for another week

I do and I can feel the difference between both settings. It is normal for your active handling light to go on after hitting a large bump. But the service active handling I have not experienced this.
I use Courtesy Chevrolet here is SJ and have been very pleased with their service department (Todd Mason has been my service writer) and the work. We purchased the car at Courtesy because of their reputation and now feel they have earned the good rep. My husband has always taken car of our cars and having a dealership work on our toys is difficult for him. However he is happy enough with them that when he does not have time he takes his Suburban and our Blazer to them.
Courtesy verified the problem with Active and explained that it and the noises were different problems and made repairs for both. They also took the time to explain the rear end noise and that the first level fix might not fix the problem and what they would do next. We still hear noise in the rear end but are going to give it a couple weeks before we take it back.

If you ever have to send your Corvette in for Service in the northern CA. area go to Woodard Chev. & Cadillac and ask for Rich (parts manager) they do great work and he himself owns a Z-06. He and the service dept. will take good care of you.
NOW THIS DEALERSHIP IS CALLED FAIRFIELD AUTO VILLAGE NAME CHANGED MAYBE OWNERSHIP DID TOO BUT STILL IF YOU NEED ANYTHING CHECK WITH RITCH THE PARTS MANAGER.
06 auto with 8500 miles
Got a Service Active Handling warning along with noise turning R, L and backing up. Backing up there is actually some jerking and popping. Doing a search in the forum what I mostly see is a problem in the steering column, I think will take more than a zip tie in the steering column to fix.

I had the zip tie fix and a replaced steering sensor. The latest fix is to replace wires to circuits 1763 and 1764. The dealer got that from GM tech assist. It's been about 3 weeks with no problem.
Seems I got it worse... Under moderate to full throttle, active handling flashes and my right front wheel locks up. Jerking the car to the right. At 100+ it gets kinda scary at first.. now I'm so so used to it..
Something is seriously wrong with my active handling, and I dont see how a wire in the steering wheel is causing this...
I am having the same issues with my 06 Z06. Noises from the rear while backing up or rolling in a moderate to tight turn hearing creaking and popping. Now service active handling came on three times in the last week the last time while entering the hiway and it gave a slight quick jerk to the left( felt like the left rear locked momentarilly). Will go to the dealer this week and will keep you posted of costs and repair.
History- my car came from the factory with a slight leak in the rear and it was determined to be an overfill condition from assembly and leaking from an internal weap hole. The fluid was drained and refilled with additve. I also reported the noise at that time. It seamed to go away, now its back. My car has 10,500 miles. I also have some bolt on mods.
My Active Handling is trying to kill me! Going 100+mph at nothing less than full throtle it comes on like !!BAM!! Tire lock! I react like a mongoose (like all corvette owners) and keep from speering the median.
At full throtle w/ a ported TB rpms don't come down that fast...
My dealer replaced the sensor, so they say This all started after my header instal and o2 sensor cable melting in to liquid. Had thaose rear deleted but still at 100+ BAM !!!!
My 02-C5 is showing the Service Active Handeling almost everytime I drive it. Sometimes it goes off by itself and other times it goes off by resetting the displays. Does anyone have photos of the zip tie and relay repairs? I would like to try this fix it, before taking it to the dealer.

Call the parts dept at Chevy and ask for PN 19179794. It's $12 or $13 and you'll need it to address the problem correctly. The only real pain about this is removing the bottom knee panel and contorting yourself to get in there. Mine went off a few weeks ago and, when I got in there, I noticed the fix had already been done but the connector was loose. I unhooked it, cleaned the contacts and used a little dielectric grease (CRC 2-26) and plugged it back in. Fingers crossed for now.
