Got a Service Active Handling warning along with noise turning R, L and backing up. Backing up there is actually some jerking and popping. Doing a search in the forum what I mostly see is a problem in the steering column, I think will take more than a zip tie in the steering column to fix.

I had the same message 5 times in the last two weeks. 05 mn6. The tech at the dealer claims it is a known problem, but no known fix (they had already zip tied the connector which did not help). They will let me know when the fix from GM is available. I will be interested to see what they say about your problem.
my active message has come on 3 times in the last 2 weeks as well.
is there a reset i can do to the computer?
did anyone notice the actual handling going off?
my 06 c6 feels like a 65 stationwagon right now. the rear suspension rolls the weight of the body now and the steering feels off, not tight at all anymore.
Mine has only gone off when going over a large bump in road or when going through tight turns. But it hasn't come on for servicing.
That noise could be your rear end and there is a TSB on that.
I guess I will have to go bully my dealer. unfortunate. The dealer I regularly visit seems to be more concered with turning out numbers of customers instead of quality of work.
Anyone know who's the best in the metro DC area for c6 work?
Most likely if not the loose wire harness it is the rheostat at the steering base that requires replacement. Takes about 2 hours under warranty. It will not go away no matter how many times you reset it.

Good luck with finding a good service oriented dealership in the area; I've got had issues with 3 different ones in Northern VA Every time I take it in for something, they damage something else, even wrecking it once...
I've got the exact same problem currently with my 05 mn6. Number 4 dealership is supposed to call me when my 3rd roof comes in so I can get all my warranty issues worked out at once. I'll let you know if they do right...
Going in for:
Svc Active Handling
Drivers Window seals after closing when it feels like it.
Drivers seat positions itself when it feels like it.
2nd rear and this one leaks from every seal, getting all seals replaced.
I have a 06 , A6 with 15K miles. My DIC has come on three times in the last two weeks( service active handeling system ) and the system shuts off. This happends mainly after hitting rough sections in the road. I have also noticed if I cross a repair channel or an uneave spot in the road the whole car will skipp to the right a little bit. I am bringing it to the dealer tommorow. I hope thy can get it right
Mine was fixed last summer. The secured the harness at the base of the steering column and replace a sensor. No problems since.

I had mine done. I haven't read the entire thread yet but I believe that there is a TSB on this. Its really a quick fix. At least mine was. Actually as I reread this they just tightened up the wiring inside the steering column (used some plastic ties). In my case there was no need to replace a sensor. Good luck. This is no bigge.

this sounds like a problem in the rear which tripped the error. how fast were you going backwards?
see, vettes aren't made to go back, they are made to go forward. how can you be in front if you're going in reverse
I would fix it because when my rheostat was causing the issue it impacts the active handling and sets off a bunch of other codes also. There were about 6-7 codes all from that part and under warranty, inside the car at the base of the steering column, simple swap out, so why not. Sooner or later it will require it.
