Would you open up a near new 2007 (1700 mi.) C6 and and install a mild/streetable cam? This car will have headers, ported TB/manifold and Vortex ram air installed befor the cam. Is the risk of voiding the warranty to great? Keep in mind the work would be done by the pro's in the shop and not DIY.
Looking for your input I have to get off dead center......Do IT or NOT
Thanks

My 2 cents...I looked into this exact thing with two 'un-related' local Chevy dealers...got basically the same answers...sort of went like this...
"If the modification has anything to do with or can be directly linked to a warranty repair issue, YES your warranty for that related repair will/could be compromised"
What this means is if you go in for an electric window warranty issue, the engine mods really have nothing to do with this, so it would be covered...if you have a tire sensor issue...probably covered...if you develop a noise in the rear end...probably will be related to added engine power...could be denied...and so on.
If you have any engine, transmission, drive train warranty issues, they would most likely be related and subsequently denied...
Worse part is these 'internal' types of engine mods is that repairs can be related to lots of issues due to having to tune and alter the computer...on a rainy day the service tech could tell his 'Boss' the car has computer mods and then potentially all bets are off!!
As much as I would love to tear into my engine, I decided to leave it alone...for now....it is to new ('07) to loose that 5-year 100,000 mile transferable GM warranty, as well as destroy any potentail future extended warranty availability...
Obviously, if you're concerned about your factory new car warranty....don't modify your car! You may have already lost vast portions of your warranty just with your other modifications.
I'm not oblivious to the financial realities but a built Lingenfelter engine is a great option. Besides the quality, power and performance LPE warrants their motor for 3 years/36,000 miles. You'll lose your factory 'drive train' coverage but it's nice to know that your engine has a warranty.
I just took my 2006 mn6 in to the dealership for a leaking rear end. I have kooks headers, xpipe, vortex cai, route 66 exhaust, and a 180 stat. I just dropped it off and told them what was wrong with it. Then about 2 days later they called and said that they were replacing the axle. but said nothing about the mods. So i will continue to go to this dealership.
MOD FRIENDLY......

Put the 1200 from the corsa into the Fast manifold.
There is a lot to your warranty. Installing the cam will probably void the engine warranty. If you blow a transmission or rear end, you will probably be on your own as well, however you are probably going to have to upgade them anyway to prevent breakage, so it is really a mood point.
Irregardless of what you do to the engine, it would not effect a warrany claim on non-powertrain issues, i.e., your stereo, or interior switches, etc.
