They haven't even designed the Fast 90 for the LS2 direct bolt on without the firewall mod yet, I doubt they will go straight to the LS3 version with the L92 set up. If your theory holds water, then "Fast" is leaving many thousands of LS2 customers who don't want to cut into firewall stranded IMHO. That being said, Manufacturing the mold for both set ups simultaneously is somewhat far fetched due to astronomical $'s needed for production and manufacturing separate molds..
I doubt the current special C6 version will ever get made since the LS3 signals the death of the design. FAST/comp cams will not be making a specific design for a 3 year production run of a car that will not nearly see the numbers to return the money for the mock-up. The percentage of C6 owners that will mod will not cover the cost. The biggest market for these types of mods is the F-body and GTO. Those cars fall into kid's hands and they mod far more than the owner of a corvette that averages 48 years old and care more about extended warranties and keeping the firewall stock than performance.
In the end the fact that anyone would be **** about a 2 inch by 3 inch hole on the firewall that looks stock after its covered precludes the reach by FAST. Even more interesting is the refusal of most people to stop reducing the manifolds gainsd to the peak numbers seen on a dyn. If a group of people wont stop ignoring area under the curve then they wont ever see the gains fromn this mod. For the record a thinner gasket for the cam only guys will hardly change peak HP on a dyno but will do wonders for a 1/4 mile run and low end street TQ.
For those that cant accept the manifold requires a hole in the firewall and gains more than headers maybe the 1200 spent on an exhaust system will make them feel like they got their money's worth since its louder and sounds faster.
For the rest of you, the offer I am considering is this: Make a donation to St. Jude's in the amount of $200 dollars and I will do all of the above mods for free in the order I get the manifolds delivered to me. I estimate the cost of the manifold, porting and painting supplies to be about 780 bucks. I will not loose any money so you are responsible for shipping. I cant do more than 1 a week and I have 7 orders already.
Well, I took the plunge today and ordered the FAST 90 Intake Manifold. It will be a great addition to the mods I am having Carolina Auto Masters (CAM) install in a week or two (depending on header delivery). Jeff Creech of CAM told me that his shop covers the hole in the firewall with fiberglass and sands it smooth.
Hers's my list now:
Mild Cam, pushrods and double springs
Kooks Headers, X-Crossover, High Flow cats to stock exhaust
160 degree Stat
Honker CAI
Underdrive Pulley with belt FAST Intake Manifold
Tune by CAM
It should be making 440 RWHP after the mod on my 2006 C6 LS2 Z51 M6. I'm excited as heck. I hope I can tell a big difference in performance when Jeff and crew gets finished with it.

A 224 cam will be near 420 and a 228 cam will be near 430rwhp. XER lobes are assumed. Take off 8-10HP for each 4 degrees and take off 10HP if you are using a low lift cam with lazy lobes.
If the manifold came out of the box with the following features would you buy it for $1200.00:
1- Modified with no need to cut the C6 firewall.
2- Black to match the finish of the stock manifold
3- Resealed with a garantee of no leaks
4- Ported for use with stock heads 243 castings
If not would you buy it for $800.00....(this is to give an idea of who just hates it)
L76/2008 vette manifold owners can refrain from posting 'no' and that it wont fit with their heads.
No thanks would rather get my stock LS2 Manifold ported for $250.00
By itself the peak numbers dont look so impressive but time and time again I will point out the midband gains which are in line with a set of headers and far elcipse the peak numbers:
He will feel it and it will be well worth the cost without any of the issues people whine about.

Thanks Spin, The Cam spec Jeff Creech sent me is 228/232 -112. Carolina Auto Masters just got the cam back from the grinder yesterday. So you think with the FAST added to my mix, I will be looking at about 430 RWHP from your experience? I'm not going to get too caught up in the numbers like everyone has recommended. I just want to feel a substantial increase in performance when I pick up my car after the mods! This will be the first set of mods I do top my Vette. I'll post the dyno numbers when I get the car back. We are looking at maybe 8/16 & 8/17 as the install dates. I'm just waiting on the Kook's headers now which should ship by the end of this week. All FAST parts shipped out yesterday (all in stock at LPE). So I'm almost set to begin my mod journey! !
Will I have to take it easy in my car for a few miles after the mod?
Thanks again Spin for posting this thread. I made up my mind to buy a FAST after reading through all the posts. Pretty darn excited
Opnions vary but I fail to see how anyone could think this difference isnt worth more $$. Or is it that you didnt actually read anything other than the first post?
Here is a comparison of the PORTED FAST vs. a PORTED LS2:
bottom line is the great ported LS2 top line is a ported FAST.........Now remember thats only 9rwhp at peak but 20 rwhp at 4500 rpm......even more impressive is the 30rwtq at 4500rpm.
The purpose of this thread was to understand how people come to the decision you made. Seeing an actual graph from a tuner comparing only the differences between the manifolds can you expalin why you dont think 20+HP and 30+TQ in the midband isnt worth 700 more? Headers dont give those gains at 4500rpm.
This is a clear indication of the potential of the ported FAST compared to the ported LS2. A FAST is clearly a great mod, especially for people like me who's main performance events are street dashes in the mid-band, but it would help in most applications. As AintQuik said, "Torque is god."
This makes me even more glad that SpinMonster intalled a FAST for me. I'll be still more glad in October when he ports it. My back tires are already whining!

Is it really worth 4X the price that it looks like it costs? ($279 to get stock TB and manifold ported)
First of it's not 4x the price you are 100% off on the math. They "porting companies" need your core to be at $279. That means you have to send them your original intake plus shipping charges. Without the original core you are at $845 dollars total for a stock ported intake at 10hp . That's a deal? Go look up what they charge to port the fast 90 intake + the cost of intake at $735 from e-bay "shipped". Nevermind that spinmonster will paint it black, modify it without cutting into the firewall, and port it for $1,200 ($1,200 includes cost of fast 90 intake). And all that extra hp gain and torque in the mid band? On the average charges are $300 for porting the fast, plus shipping..
Now you look at the graph, do the math and tell me which one is the deal?

I feel I overcharged you. I should have paid you for that vacation. I had never been to Kentucky.
The FAST intake manifold sounds like a really good option. Does anybody have pictures of the modifications required to install without cutting the firewall and relocating the MAF?

We will show modified fast pics before and after install. It will be painted gloss black and ported. Dyno numbers will be posted also. Before numbers, 413rwhp/377rwtq with 4.10 gearing.. See sig for other mods..
And you missed nature night and the party at the boss's house that rendered certain vette owners incapable of driving home.....or rememering how I drove it home for him that night.
Remember Ferris Bueler's day off and the parking garage attendants that took the vintage ferarri out for a test drive.
