so getting back to my original question. From the responses so far I gather no one feels or has experienced problems with adding a SC. Not too much HP for the A6 tranny or the rear end. Wont be taking it to the track, just driving it 3 or 4 times a week and needed a little extra HP to put the shelby's in their place when needed.
I know nothing about an auto trans, but I will say beyond the shadow of a doubt...there is "NO" drawback to a blower!! Your only problem may be the same as mine, finding enough time to enjoy it.
I believe the 2006 A6's have a stout tranny and rear end. I would say that with all things stock w/a super charger, you should be just fine. I would just make sure that you put it in competitve mode when you get on it. I was at the track, and the guy left his traction control on, and he blew he out put shaft. Just like with a stock C6, wheel hop kills rear ends.
Seals went bad on my previous ProCharger P1 head unit at approx. 6K miles. At that point I decide to upgrade to the D1SC unit. Taming the belt slip was a PITA.

I had the same problem, but at least it was covered under warranty and I had it back in 6 days.
Two things to say:
1) love the wining noise of the blower
2) almost 9k for a S/C what about a TT is almost the same prize, you have 60% less parts on a S/C setup but is almost a the same prize. Can someone explain that??????

Thanks everyone for the input, I will be dropping my car off this Sunday for the install.
