Rev Extreme are in Tampa. You might want to give them a call.

I'm way over in Vero Beach.

Like Stephen mentioned there is RevX in the Tampa area that would be the closest "full time" area tuner. I will be in Ft Myers this coming Friday and Saturday, 8/24 and 8/25 at Aftermath Performance to tune some cars for that shop. You can call Roy at 239-939-4649 and see if there are any spots left. From last I talked to him things were pretty full for Saturday. I do plan on heading that way once every 2-4 weeks depending on demand.

You can also PM, e-mail me at thevettedr@aol.com or call me at 407-616-2518 during the day for any info or questions. Hope this helps and best to you.

Thanks for the response.
Here is what I have:
06 Z51 (coupe)
Kooks long tubes w/hi flo cats and Corsa Sport Cat backs.
K&N intake
Looking for a street tune, the car is a serious daily driver like as much as 3K/month.
This one only has 12 K on it so everything is new.
I just want to get it dialed in to the mods made.
No plans for any future mods except maybe a little intake work at some point.
Can you fix me up Doc?
Aprox. costs?
I am flexible on the scheduling.

I generally do not do street tunes only as I prefer to get my tuning done on the dyno with a wideband and then verify everything on the street after. This is for a couple reasons.

One, I do not own a portable true wideband AF meter such as an LM1, but do have a wideband AF on my dyno and most others do also. And in my opinion a good street only tune can not be done correctly without a wideband installed. If someone is doing a street tune without a portable wideband and using the stock oxygen sensor reading as a reference, it may be off more than you think.

Second, I am not personally a big fan of high speed wide open throttle runs for tuning as basically it is illegal, speed wise, and too many potential ways to hurt myself, the car and other folks property. There are folks that do it and this is not a knock on them at all, just my two cents there.

Third, with a chassis dyno tune and road test after, you can "SEE" what was gained and not just have a seat of the pants feeling it is better. You can also see what the AF reading is, not what someone is telling you it is. If folks are happy with not having "proof" of what they have gained and how safe the AF is, that is what works for them and no problem.

With that said, the charges at my shop for tuning on the dyno is $350 for naturally aspirated and $400 for forced induction or nitrous cars. This includes setting the idle and cruise paratmeters first to get driveablity where it should be. Then on to the wide open throttle runs with AF readings. As many runs as needed. After that there is a road test to verify driveability and fuel trim settings.

When I travel to other shops, the fees are usually $450-500 and it all depends on the shop. Some have fees for the time on their dyno and others use an off site dyno and need to pay that shop for dyno use.

As mentioned, I can tune your car in Ft Myers this weekend and mentioned above. If you want to do just a basic change with no dyno time, you would be looking at approx $200 depending on how much time it takes to get the LTFT's into line, but I would not be doing any WOT runs on the street. I can also set up an appointment for you to come up to the Orlando area for a full chassis dyno tune at my shop, but it is a drive from that area.

Hope this info helps and feel free to call Roy in Ft Myers at the number mentioned before to set up a time there or call me if you have any other questions. Thanks.

I think he means a tune suitable for daily street driving vs a tune optimized for racing that requires a few concessions for daily driving. I don't think he wants the tuning to actually be done while on the street.

Any of the good tuners will be able to customize it to what he wants so that is a good point.

Thanks to all.
I didnt mean a WOT street tune.
My bad.
Sorry!
I just want to get it dialed in to whats there. I like lively driving and just looking to make sure I am getting the best I can out of the headers etc.
I used the phrase street tune in the context of it being a daily driver and not raced.

No problem rocket1, as there are different meanings to the same title to different folks. Just like one shops Stage 1 heads are similar to another shops Stage 3 heads. Let me know if i can be of any help.

Thanks for the offer Tracy.

Mike is this something you are willing to do?
I have a relatively flexible schedule and do end up in Orlando also.
I can give you a call if you are interested and we could work out when and where.

rocket1,

I would be more then happy to talk to you about what we can do with your car and if you are willing to come up to the Orlando area, that would be great. I am the road tomorrow in Ft Myers through Saturday and my phone is with me always. Talk to you soon.

Rocket, since Mike is in FT Meyers the next two days you really should try to take the short drive down there while you have the opportunity. You won't be disapointed.
