I just put a LPE CAI on my 2005 and WOW what an improvement. Prior to the installation it wouldn't break the tires loose on take off. A-4. After the install it now will light em up. Not that I do that hardly at all. But it's nice to feel the dif. in accleration. I'd highly recomend one to anybody that's on the fence.
I can't attest to a stand-alone increase as I installed the LPE CAI as part of other modifications but I like the product. IMO if it says Lingenfelter you're pretty-much assured of having the best in Corvette performance modifications.
Although I'm still 'cautious' about driving in the rain with a CAI, it's nice to know the LPE CAI can handle driving through fairly heavy rainfall. Always avoid deep standing water though.
I suggest you buy a spare filter so you can pull your dirty filter and simply install a fresh one. Clean your dirty filter and have it ready to swap-out when the other one gets dirty.
