Default Need Help for the weekend!!

I was reading this post on friday...."manual trans issues" and as of last night I just cant get the car into reverse at all. I have an 06' z51 also, but with a procharger and 410's. All the other gears seem fine, doesnt grind at all....just will not let me put the stick into reverse, no matter how hard I push it...its the oddest thing I have ever seen.

this is my question... think its cool to be driving it, or should I wait out the holiday weekend with it in the garage? I dont want to make a potential problem worse.
Thanks for any help at all!!!

No not at all, with the engine off, it wont even let the stick go to the right far enough to even get near reverse!

Unless its an emergency, I wouldn't drive it. You already have a problem....why risk aggravating the situation?

It probably won't be covered under your factory warranty but I'd take it to the dealership to be repaired. Maybe your dealership will be 'reasonable' and realize this problem has nothing to do with your engine mods. Good luck!

if every gear goes in no noise, easy, you dont feel any throw changes no synchronizer noise no vibrations neutral seems the same, and you cant get it into position for grinding reverse it has to be shifter fork bent i dont know if their is an adjustment

just a shot, besides the bent fork, could be the linkage came loose somehow. have to remove to console to see for both.

better for you to remove the console or have your shop sign something that if they scratch it they will fix it.

Default Thanks

Thanks for all the input, after driving the car again, I didnt like how the other gears were acting, think it might be a linkage problem and I decided to keep it in the driveway until tomorrow, when I drive it to the shop.

Thanks again to everyone for such a quick response!
