when i switched out my thermo to a 160, i also drained out all(most i could) of the STOCK coolant, and i made a new concockshun of Distilled water 80%, Dexcool 20%, and 3-4 ouces of WW.
make sure to make extra for future use..
my temps are 175 all the time after my tune, tuner used a efilive coolant patch to bring down the fan to 168 or so.

T-stat and fan settings make the real difference.
Changing the mix from 50/50 to around 65% - 70% water and using Royal Purple Ice resulted in my temps being a bit lower. The water makes a big difference.
Depending upon your climate, don't go too low on the antifreeze if your car might be exposed to really cold temps.
