Is there any difference between a base C6 shifter and a Z06 shifter?

The base tranny has the same 'close' ratios compared to the wider ratio Z51 gearbox.

I assume he is asking about the shifter. I don't know the answer. Sorry

Yep, I guess I didn't make myself clear. What I meant is there any difference in the shift throw?

I own both (stock & Z06) shifters and there is no difference in the throw. Using B&M now but it's starting to feel rubbery, going to try Kirban next.

Disclaimer: I have no idea if the 08 Z shifters are different, mine is an 07.

The only difference is in the actual shifter base that bolts to the torque tube. The mounts on the C6 (and base C5) have a rubber bushing to keep noise down. The Z06 (both C6 and C5) have a solid bronze insert to keep the actual base (what the shifter bolts to) more solid for a more positive feel.

And the consequences of this are (1) a firmer, more positive feel that does seem to be a bit shorter, even though it isn't and (2) an occasional rattle, mostly (at least for me) around 3-4K RPM.
