Do Octane Additives Really Work ?
Are you the same guy that did that C6 highway video with Jenny P holding her implants and a bottle of Torco??
If so, even if Torco is
, your OK in my book!! Does Jenny really have all those tatoos on her back?
, mind you, not complaining about the front!

The purpose of timing advance is to allow enough time for the flame front to travel across the combution chamber, fully ignite the air fuel mixture, and begin exerting a downward force on the piston, just as the crankshaft passes TDC. The faster the engine is turning, the more of a head start the spark needs. Hence, more spark advance as a function of engine speed. So, at a given RPM, there should be an optimum point WRT to TDC, at which the spark is delivered, correct?
So how could a STOCK motor benefit from firing the spark plug sooner, and subsequently increasing the octane level (knock resistance) of the fuel (i.e. - the Torco tune) And if someone proposes it's because the Torco tune is leaner, it's already been stated that the LS3 doesn't seem to benefit from leaning ?
I do see the benefits of increasing the octane level of the fuel in motors that have forced induction or higher than stock CR, or if you can't get the proper fuel for your engine locally. Otherwise, for a stock motor, I don't see that much benefit.

a viable product that can increase performance. I have a problem
with those many products out there with claims that are very
misleading. Like c6 dvl who put 3 bottles of LUCAS in her tank and found it to be total crap. We need more auto owners to post here and everywhere to expose their phony or misleading claims. Some of that
stuff should never make it to the shelf.
shhhhhh, my wife don't know! it was supose to be our secret
All I know that Lucas crap (maybe excessive of me puting 3 bottles in the tank) slowed me down!, and I was told putting that crap WITHOUT tuning for higher octane is a waste.... I was also told to have a can of Torco on hand when I'm ready to tune
somebody shoot me
This stuff is available at Service Center in Lomita, California. Talk to the folks over there. (Call directory assistance)
I have been using the stuff since the mid 80's on my 13:1 compression 455 using 91-92 pump gas without Knocks and runnubg advanced timing
The Stuff is Cheap, non-combustable and can be stored for a long time
