Default flushing 06 vette brake fluid

I have a 79 & 06 vette. every year I have flushed the fluid on my 79 since new. One person pumping and me opening and closing bleeders. Is this OK for my 06 or is it necessary to purchase a power bleeder?

Thanks in advance DKAY

Do yourself a favor and get the power bleeder. They make them just for that size reservoir.
With the pedal method you run the risk of over-extending the boot inside the master cyl and tearing it, due to the extra length in travel.. not made to extend down that far..

The gravity method also may work fine, have not personally tried it on a vette.. just make sure the MC doesn't go dry... its also slow going.

However my wife got tired of pushing the pedal so I ordered the Motive brake bleeder last week. I completely flushed the system in no time at all. I did finish up using the two person method for at least two times on each caliper to insure a stiff pedal.

On a side note I used ATE super blue which makes it very easy to tell when new fluid is coming out. You simply use super blue the first time and then switch to their "amber colored" fluid the next time.

I recently bought the Motive bleeder as well. It's not expensive and it makes it easy to do it yourself. I use Motul 600 fluid which seems to hold-up well on the track.
