I'm a big fan of Mickey Thompson drag radials. My best is high 1.6's but my buddy can get 1.5's. These with manual transmissions.
The new 295 18" Mickeys should be pretty close to stock size so they won't mess with active handling. My 17" m/t's are short and they mess up active handling so I have to turn it off.
i have the bfg 295 35 18 they work great on the street and track been 1.588 60 ft. but not the power you have George
Dennis,..I don't know about My power,..but You're running some pretty quick 1/4 mile times according to Your profile!!
How's about BFG's in a 335/30/18?

Thanks Joe!!!
I might keep My rims for "show",and get some 18" rims and tires for "go"!
I have a set of 17" BFG's and 17" MT's. I have no problem with AH at all, but I usually change them at the track. Not sure what extended miles might cause the system to do. I'm pretty close to stock and like both tires equally. For stock power the GY Z51 runflats do a nice job but at that price it's cheaper to buy DR's & wheels. I can only dream of putting down 1.6's.

How's about BFRG's in a 335/30/18?
that will work but you need a 12 inch rim and no reason to run more tire than you need. the traction is their. at the corvette challenge i put down a string of 60 fts from 1.612-1.600 and ets 11.660-11.622 so it is hooking pretty good with 373s and 3800 converter. but they say the new mickey 305 18 will be better. but i am sure anyone of those in a 17 would be best if you can stay within 3% of the stock tire height. also the rule of thumb is stick car mickey et streets auto bfgs. either way i would go with what works
Thanks!
What's the "style name" of the new MT tires?{305/18}
mt drag radial they made 2 new sizes 305 18 and 345 18 for the zo6 they were suppose to be out a couple months ago i was waiting but they had a problem with some test sets and stopped production, i called them direct and talked to the head guy, he said they wont be out for a long time so i bought the bfgs 2 weeks after they came out i think summit has them in the catalog
For a street-driven drag radial I'd go with the BFG though as you will get a lot more life...but the mickey thompson is unbelievably sticky and I have no doubt my 255 MT tire will be seeing 1.4 60s when my car has a little more power on it. I've seen plenty of SC vettes go 1.4 and 1.5 on Mickey Thompsons.
I loved the C5, and the C6 is even better. The 07 runs pretty consistant but every once in a while it'll put down a 1/4 run a tenth slower, for no apparent reason. Once TM is figured out the car will be awesome.
You can run your stock fronts on the rear and get the 295 35 18 BFG's
Send them out and add 1.5"s for the 305 Nitto or the new MT ET Radial!
or get a cheap set of 17's and the taller 295 45 17 MT.
I hear there are 17" replicas now can anyone confirm?
I have 19's up front.
Are You saying keep the 19's and put some 18's on the back?
Maybe I'll just pick up a "spare"sets of wheels with some slicks on them.
I'm craving to feel how some stickey tires will hold the rwhp and tq I got!
Would be an AWESOME launch!!
