Default another clutch problem

Just bought a 06 Z06 with 1400 miles and after I got car the car home and changed oil and went over a few things I took it out for a hard run.Noticed pedal feel was light and when I give more than 50% throttle it will jump to 5 or 6000 rpm`s also got that burnt smell. So I assume the clutch is slipping. Tryed Rangers therapy and changed fluid,it was dark. But it didn`t help any so I guess I need a new clutch. Now I was told to get a new flywheel ,clutch and plate and have a machine shop balance it to the oringinal. Is this all necessary, and should I upgrade to a better clutch. What brand, suggestion`s. Will be autocrossing and a couple track days.Help!

Thanks

If the car is less than 1 year old (on the road) it's warranty.Otherwise, get a better after market setup. There's a bunch of guys on here who know what's good.I forget at the moment.

welcome to the club my friend
i lost my clutch same as u ,, and my car is under warrenty
i changed my clutch and flywheel for RAM powergrip HD
but the problem is ,, since i changed my clutch i had a problem which is the master cylinder for the CLuch pump ( underneeth one )
is always damaged !!
i took my car to fix it now the stupiied dealer says to me because of the clutch ! and now i am confused
i will change my clutch again and get a Zo6 clutch and flywheel and sell mine or maybe i will exchange it with my friend
so the point is ! dont get yoiurself into trouble
and get a GM clutch Zo6 i would suggest ! otherwise if something happened later ! trust me !! no one will figure it out to u and they will say maybe its the Cluch set !

good luck dude

Many of us have had clutch issues and most of them can be traced back to the fluid. changing the fluid is very easy and if you live in a hot climate it is eavin more of a problem. Follow this link, Ranger is the raining expert here on clutches and racing.

It's 1400 miles, clutch fluid is not going to damage it that early

I've seen two C6Zs at 1300 miles with clutch pedals sticking to the floor on the 2-3 shift. Both launched OK and supported the 1-2 shift; But the next shift stuck the pedal. Both had nasty azzzzed clutch fluid. Once the fluid was cleaned up (5-10 changes of the reservoir), the pedal returned to normal. Moral: keep the fluid fresh and clean.

That said, the LS7 clutch hates to be slipped at an elevated rpm. If done anyway, the pedal will hang and express eau de clutch. Moral: don't slip the clutch. Instead, make a fast release.
