Okay well i went on Friday let the engine cool down for about 45 min. Then waited in line for another 20 . I launched at 1200 rpm but i just cant get in the 12s had traction off dont knoe whats going on .
FYI, if you are driving a 6 speed then you need to stay in third gear. You are killing your ETs if you shift into 4th and you are basicly stock....i.e. you dont have a blower or 4.10 gears? Are you a 6 speed car?
That MPH matches a low 13 time, so there was none or not much wheel spin. I'm assuming you're using S mode without the paddles, true? Torque Management off the launch can kill the A6, along with the shifts. Looks like TM is your problem to me. Can you spin the tires off a launch or does it just take off without wheel spin (street or strip)?

Yeah i had it on S without the paddeles. Whats TM . Yea im pretty sure i can spin them.
It stands for Torque Management, if you do a search on it you can read all about it and it's effects on your car's launching and shifting.
Are you using a quality name brand premium fuel only and running a 1/3 of a tank of less and emptying out any unnecessary loose items from your car (to save some weight) before you race?

Brian
You must shift uinto 4th about 50 to 75 yards before the 1/4 mile I'm tacking 6400 rpm well before the 1/4 mark. Unless you have a base suspension with base gear ratio you have to go into 4th with a 6 speed. I do. My times are bad also 13.4 was my best but I did do a 112 mph at the end. I had wheel hop and traction issues and had to back off on the throttle.
Hm...everything about the run is slow for what it should be doing. I'd have to see what you were doing to really give you a better diagnosis of a problem most likely.
What is the altitude of the track you race at? and what was the weather like?
A better question....what are other LS2 corvettes that are stock running at that track?
I tried my 07 a6 Z51 saturday....exact same results.....13.3@107
I only made two passes before the weather turned bad....the humidity was horrible and about 78 degrees---pre thunderstorm conditions. Not exactly ideal.
I think that improvement could be made in the 60' area...my car felt sluggish off of the line. leaving work one day I gave it a little more gas than normal to get out into traffic and it threw me back into the seat like a carnival ride!!! the track was a different story though. after thinking about it, At the track I was power braking to 1000-1500 rpm. Leaving work, I was at idle.
I feel like if I could go back to the track and leave off of idle (or close to it) then It would leave harder. It will "flash" the converter and get the car moving quicker.....1.8 60' times should be attainable in stock trim!!
Better weather, more practice, and maybe even some time for the computer to "learn" what we want it to do......things will get a lot faster
You guys need to PM DennisNJ for some launch techniques for the A6. His advice helped me develop a successful technique for launching my A6 on the stock runflats that got me into the 1.8 60ft territory and deep into 11's (11.4's) on said runflats. Since you guys don't have a tune yet, you have to learn to "drive around " the TM. Or ,better yet, go pay the couple of hundred bucks and get the nasty TM tuned out of your programming, then, and only then can you flash the converter without falling on your face and costing yourself many tenths of a second. Someone made a report with a data logger awhile back , showing that TM pulled up to 14 degrees of timing(about 5HP per degree) for .3-.4 tenths of a second on launch and during shifts on the A6 at WOT, and that was with stock HP. You won't feel the TM while spinning, so if you pull a decent run out of your butt and said..."but , man, I was spinning the whole way"....thats why. A good launch and hook, alond with good traction during shifts equal lots of TM interferance with the stock tune. Good luck, fellas , and LS1/LT1 or Dennis are the go-to guys for this tranny.
Nice..but that helps these guys as much as a flat tire. Ranger is the local Manual Guru, I'm not sure how much experience he has with the A6, of course, not taking anything away from him. I'd talk to Dennis or LS1.....

A stock Z51 hits the rev limiter at 104 MPH in 3rd gear.

It was about 71 degres. And i was the only c6 there . There was a c5 but he mis shifted 2nd and just slowed down he hit a 15. Yea i think its my launch thats killing me. I really dont knoe what to do.I burn out smoke my tires. Then i line up and just stall it at 1200 rpm. Am i suppose to go higher to when the wheels are spinning. Then let go of the break

I feel your pain man. People see a corvette and are expecting amazing times and I guess i didnt meet the standard. Then everybody wants to race you cuz they see u dont get in the 12s. And everybody wants to race a vette. Its all good i knoe with pratice with the mods i have planned to get ill be in the high 11s. I just need to start by learning my car. And getting the best launch.
YEah jogar i sent you a pm also.
Thanks for everybodys info i really appreciate it. I really do thanks
