Got a C6 really nice and I lover it. Last winter I just put a cover over it and started it up about every other week or when it got really cold. Is there anything I really should be doing besides that? Just want to make sure I am not missing anything.

Put Stabil in gas, put 40lbs in tires, get a battery tender, and do not start it
Appricate it. I thought there was more to it then the dealer said. Any particular stablizer for the gas?
Thanks again
I use the brand Stabil, but other people use other brands.
Put it in at a 1/2 tank drive a bit and then fill it up all the way on the trip home for winter sleep (that way you get it to spread to BOTH tanks and the whole fuel system) Done this since I first got my 98, it still holds true for the C6s.
change the oil
fill the gas tank
put Stab-il or SeaFoam in it to stabilize fuel
Put dessicant inside car to minimize chance of mold
Pump tires up to side wall max pressure
use a silicone dressing on weather stripping
hook up a battery float charger
do not start over winter
make sure car is washed (ideally waxed as well) then cover
You don't want cover rubbing grit into clearcoat
Thanks so much for the info... I like this forum, good info good people. The car is in my garage so it will be easy to ensure all you said is done... I call the dealer since I just got it last year and he said no big deal, just start it once and while.. Yeah right.
In some places there are lakes that freeze over then they take their cars & do donuts etc. No problem with a vette on that issue. There must be some good to come out of the winter.
I'm sure this has all changed too but I used to hear that it was bad to let your engine sit for too many months because seals would dry out and cause leaks. I try to start all my cars at least every other month and if I can't drive them I at least let them come up to temp for a little while.

I SEE NO ADVANTAGE TO NOT STARTING IT UO OCCASSIONALLY. YES
THE SEALS COULD DRY UP AND YOU MIGHT HAVE LEAKS.

Yes, DRIVE IT! LOL
Letting a car sit dormant for too long is never a good thing.
If the roads are dry and clear of any salt/sand then there is no real reason to even store the car (yes I know it's a personal preference and there are no right or wrong answers on the topic of 'putting it away for winter' so please take no offense ). Once a higher temp rain or two comes through and then dries the roads are clean until the next snow/ice attack, unless y alive in MN or Canada oer something.
I personally could not go 3 or 4 months in a row without driving my Corvette, although people have given me a lot of crap about sometimes not driving it for 2 to 3 weeks at a time even during the summer!

Hey I resemble that remark,I take my car out on nice days, lol.
OMG... Thanks for all the advise.. Now I am confused... I will be storing it in my garage and I agree if its nice out the winter is mild, I can "take it out for a spin...." or just moth ball it till March...
