Default Hurst Short Shifter

Like it says above... if you have one do you like it? and was it worth the money? Looking to get one next week, any info would be awesome!

I have had B&M Short Shifters in the past in my other cars...

I did't care for the Hurst. Went with a Kriban and love it. Also, it uses the stock ****.

I have had mine in for a year now. It is the best mod I have done to my Vette and I have done more than most.

Wait another 2 weeks for the MGW shifter to come out....I guarantee you it will be the best shifter on the market. Myself and another member on here are currently testing the prototypes....I can't go into much detail on pricing, but you will be a very happy camper with what you get for a very competitive amount of money

i've always went with the Hurst1
that said the 08 and the new t-6060 doesn't need one,
The short travel and ease of the stock one are already way nicer
than the t-56 with any shifter.Save your money if you have an 08! I 've had 4 t-56's all with hursts!

I would like a short shifter but I have read rattle problems with all of them. Not on every installation but there have been reports of all of them rattling in some installations.

It the Mustang world "MGW" is the best of the best. Ask any Mustang owner...especially 03-04 Cobra Owners, and they will tell you. MGW actually stands for "Maryland Gun Works". George the VP, actually starting making shifters as a side business, but it has grown to be a very big business, They are now located in Georgia.
Up until now, MGW has only made shifters for Mustangs and Vipers....But the C5+C6 shifter is in production phase and will be available before Christmas. I am lucky enough to be testing one for them Let me tell you this shifter is absolutely awesome. No rattle what-so-ever, short precise shift action, interchangable ***** and shafts, top of the line quality, etc. Blowns the competition away...even Calaway IMO. I can't comment on price, but you will not be disappointed

http://www.mgwltd.com/

(Nothing on the site about the C5 or C6, but there will be soon)

Love my Callaway too! Callaway=Corvette, but I do have the Hurst retro-**** which cured the cold ball issue.

I had a Hurst on my C5, I liked the shifter and it has probably been improved over the 6 years since I got mine. That said, I am satisfied with the stock shifter on my 06.

Update. I am still satisfied with my OEM, but I drove a friends C6 this morning with a Callaway shifter. That thing rocks! He did say that it has some buzz at WOT - which I did not do

Have too much chatter with my Hurst. Just got a new Calloway, and I am hoping the chatter will be a thing of the past.

As far as I know, the Hurst is the only aftermarket shifter that is made for the C6. The others are just C5 carryovers since their shifters don't have the bend in them that the stock C6 shifter has. Plus the Hurst shifter made for the C6 will use the stock C6 ****. Be sure to get Hurst part number 3915086 for the C6 version.

The shifter is about 100 times better than the stock shifter when it comes to speed shifting. You'll never miss that 2nd to 3rd shift again.

There IS a downside to this shifter, at least on my car. It will rattle like hell in 3rd gear above 4500 RPM.

Tom

I have the Hurst on my '08 and it impresses me. The shifts are much shorter and more positive, possibly could be called "notchy". I have not heard any noise or rattle from this shifter at all.

The hurst shortened the travel on your 08? The stock one feels awful,
good! It's already pretty short.
The 97-07 needs the hurst, Be nice to try one!
