I am placing Melrose headers on my 07 A6 vert this week. Vararam is already on board. I want to change exhaust to one of the bi-mode systems- either OEM NPP or B&B Fusion with Pipedreams NPP in a Box.
Is the drone going to be a problem with my A6 if I go with the B&B or am I safer with the OEM NPP? Because you know- if the wife ain't happy, nobody happy!!

I just put on some Z-06 mufflers and have Kook's headers, it has some drone, but just right for play time. Adding mild to wild soon
still thinking witch way to go, Gm vacuum or the vacuum box to control
the flaps.
I have the Melrose with stock mufflers....nice sound with a little rumble, no drone whatsoever. I'm contemplating on the Flowmasters....I just don't know. Oh! I have a MN6.
I have AR headers and the B&B route 66's, after the header install the drone has about doubled. City driving under load the drone is kinda loud, and highway cruise 70mph the drone is kinda loud, at slower cruising speeds there is no drone.
That's what I was worried about with the B&B setup. The B&B sound awesome and the exhaust tips look incredible, yet the drone problem would really irk me and especially my wife.
Now I wonder if the OEM NPP drone with the headers. Umh??? Any opinions about that anyone.
I have melrose with GHL's. I put $250 of dynomat etc. What helped tone the drone more was the 4.10's, not in the drone zone anymore. Kinda the same with you only auto. Do the search and see if C6 owners that had aftermarket exhaust before, like the NPP's..... if you like that sound, its great, then with the clicker just go mild..... I listened to an 08 auto with the clicker and while a great gadget, I didn't care for the NPPs sound....IMO

When I installed the 4.10's the drone disappeared in the 60 to 65mph range, with 5th and 6th gears. Being that you have the A6, installing 3.15 gears and a tune would definitely reduce drone since your engine will be reving a few hundred rpms higher and will surely be a lot faster.

I have my stock z06 mufflers set to open at 2000 rpm.
That way I'm past the drone zone.
Around town the drone isnt bad and I leave the vlaves open, but on the freeway its pretty unbearable and I close them and have them open at my custom rpm.
