Well I installed the Xtremes on 12-14-07 and can't stand the burble and popping during decelaration. I didn't install the x-pipe but I don't believe it will make that big of a difference. For anyone looking for a set I would be willing to sell them at a good price. I will have them removed on Tuesday.
Put my Xtremes on today (MN6/Z51). With jackstands, I was able to do it myself. Not too difficult but a slight pain to line up the tips. However, as long as I kept the Torca clamps loose at the muffler and between the over-the-axle and H-pipes, I was able to line them up perfectly before tightening the clamps.
Noticeable deep rumble at idle and roars on acceleration! Got the pops and burbles you describe, but I found that depending on your style of driving, you can reduce it or increase it. Fast shifting on acceleration minimizes pop as does taking it out of gear on decel (i.e. using your brakes more than your gears to slow down). If you take your foot of the accelerator and coast in gear, you'll get more pops and burbles. Nevertheless, I'm fine with the pops&burbles - obviously a function of your 'sound' preference and driving style.
No drone noticed on cruising at highway speeds, and exhaust sound is not intrusive. Easy to carry on a conversation. But, when you hammer it, you will get noticed! Now, that's an exhaust!

....and yet another vote here. And I get the burble and pop (let's call it B&P ) on decel even without the M2W switch. When I'm getting on it and decel through a curve, etc, I get plenty of B&P until the engine speeed drops below 3500 rpm.
I do love the NPP exhaust. It's perfect for me. Way to go Chebby.

I have the Extremes on mine and I have absolutely no drone at cruising and sounds amazing during acceleration! My question is why would you even buy the exhaust if you didnt want it to sound different than stock?

Corsa is the master when it comes to no drone. If I didn't have NPP, I would have Corsas on my '08 .
The NPP is a great sounding exhaust. Had I known Ed was going to make the NPP retrofittable I would not have got the Extremes. I am happy with them, though. When I get my LT's I may very well want the NPP mufflers.
I concur with others. I've had the extremes on for two weeks now and no complaints. The P&B that the OP is referring to is not bad, kind of sexy depending on your taste for exhaust tones. I like the low rumble at idle and the WOT sound is excellent. No significant drone. You can talk/listen to music w/o difficutly. I had no problems line up the tips either.
exhaust sound taste is like taste in weman.......everybody has their own BETTER opinon...lol!!! to each his own but i like loud, p&bing exhaust. but you can stop the poping with a good tune and x pipe. or stop coasting to a stop in gear...this is what causes the poping
Yes, I knew these were not for me on the way home. I almost feel embarrased when coming to a red light.
Didnt you listen to one in person? You cannot chose an exhaust system from online sound clips. I love my Borla Stinger Sports. I chose them after 6 months of going to many Corvette events and seeing in person what each sounds like. Sounds like you need to go back to stock. Lesson learned: drive with someone who has already done what you want so you can decide if its what YOU want. A little common sense goes a long way.
Think I would rather spend the money on an air intake and a tune.
It seems very little to be gained from a cat back exhaust. I would rather have a quite ride on long trips and listen to a cd than the constant burble and popping.
more air in needs more exhaust out. Seems useless to have one without the other. Your call though.
x pipe and tune would have taken care of most of what you are describing. That said, going with the Extreme was not a great call if you do not like a nice deep sounding exhaust. I see a lot of you are NPP fans, I personally think it is not nearly aggressive enough, yes, including WOT.
