Well I installed the Xtremes on 12-14-07 and can't stand the burble and popping during decelaration. I didn't install the x-pipe but I don't believe it will make that big of a difference. For anyone looking for a set I would be willing to sell them at a good price. I will have them removed on Tuesday.
No need to be embarrassed. Gear heads will recognize the sound of a free flowing exhaust and love it. Non performance types can be educated as they are encountered. Regardless, if you dont like it then nothing else needs be said. Its gotta go.

I have headers and the B&B route 66's, i love the burble and popping sound i get with them. Wished you were local, i am looking for something louder and with more burble and pops.
Sounds like you better stay with the stock exhaust. I've NEVER heard a catback on a C6 that didn't do that. It has nothing to do with the Extremes. Try the B&B Bullets if you think the Extremes are bad...

Chevys NPP stock exhuast for the 08's pop and gurgle as well if you have a mild2wild switch and leave all the pipes open. Shut 2 down and you can hardly hear it at all. Best of both worlds.

Think I would rather spend the money on an air intake and a tune.
It seems very little to be gained from a cat back exhaust. I would rather have a quite ride on long trips and listen to a cd than the constant burble and popping.
I hope you realized that the sound level changes when it gets broken in, you should give it some time and install an X-pipe which does decrease the popping when decelerating.
But then again I like loud and want performance, I think in your case a ZO6 or NPP exhaust is what you need.
