Cartek Does It Again!!

) Last week I decided to finish up the project I started last year. My '07 was previously equipped with CoW HD4.10s, VR, ported TB, UD pulley, Kooks 1 3/4" w/cats, Borlas, and Cartek's 2x cam. The car was making good power (415/380) and drove great. But it was now time to finish the build up. I once again enlisted the help of the guys at Cartek since they had started the project. After a few phone calls and an exchange of some emails & PMs, everything was set.
Added to the above list of mods, were Cartek's 4x heads and a ported/painted F.A.S.T., along with their custom catch-can. During the post install dyno runs, it was apparent that I needed bigger injectors. As Dave said, "This is a good problem to have. It means you're making a lot of power." Final numbers after all was said and done were 485rwhp 432rwtq. This is thru cats and 4.10 gears! Even Dave was impressed with the numbers and knowing how Julio tunes their cars this means more than you may realize. Cartek does not shoot for big impressive dyno numbers to wave around. They can tune to get you numbers to show off to your friends but the car will not be any faster. This is why many, including myself, tell people not to stress over dyno numbers. They do not tell the whole story. Cartek's work proves itself at the track. So I picked up the car Sat. afternoon and anctiously began my journey home. Unfortunately this was the last time I got to drive it because of the wonderful weather we have in NJ
But preliminary testing says this car is wickedly fast. The best I could do, because of traffic, was a quick stomp exiting a toll booth. As I pressed down on the gas peddle, the tires started spinning, the rear-end stepped sideways a foot or two, and then the car just launched forward. It kept in it for a few seconds till 3rd gear and then I had to let off. But man this thing is going to scream once I get a chance to open it up. They say winter is a good time to start projects because of the down time due to weather. I agree but the problem is once the project is done, you can't drive it to it's potential yet.
It's sitting in my garage begging me to drive it. Hopefully this week I'll get a chance and some decent weather. Then I can come back with a full report as to how bad it really is
Thanks again Dave, Max(he's put up with a lot from me and I havn't even met the man yet), Julio, and the rest of the guys at Cartek who made my C6 faster than I could ever drive it....

You beat me to it Frankie son...GRRRR...Congrats at the power,, wow, time to smoke some c6 Z's...Dennis excluded..
Awesome numbers...Now u got me..
...lots of luck...Have some fun with it, and be careful of the idiots on the road.

...it was 12 something i think. Talking with him, he said they could have leaned it out more to get better dyno numbers, but it wouldn't make the car run any faster.
In due time my friend, in due time. I went with 38lb injectors. On the way home a tinted Audi S4 was weaving all over the road trying to impress me.
I so badly wanted to show it up, but there was way too much traffic. This guy was driving like a real ***
Once I get a chance to really test it out I'll give you a call.
Your best bet is to call Cartek and ask for Dave. I had a few things added and some that were carried over from a previous install, so my price may be a little different. He wont BS you though. What he tells you is what it will cost. Thanks for all the kind words fellas. I can't wait to really get on this thing. Maybe after the holidays.

looks like another beast will be runing around Jersey. I went to a track rental last week with Dave, Julio & company, scared the livin hell out of them
(not the car my driving) But I must comment that I was very impressed with the performance of their head & cam packages. Enjoy the new found performance
Maybe we all should have a get together when Atco opens in the spring. BTW Marc is a good guy even if he is faster than me
Hey Marc

Good call on the catch can. Did they have to knotch the pistons Frankie?

I was fortunate enough to have been there during some of these dyno pulls and the car sings real nice through the Borlas, that is some crazy
power for what is still a totally streetworthy cam, smooth idle, great torque curve...this car has to be a total blast to drive.
Congrats Frank and good job Cartek.
