C6 1/4 Mile Performance Challenge
Yeah its fixed but....Read this! Headers are coming off the black car today, thats the last mod I have to remove that I will be installing on the new car, then it gets tuned and out to the drag strip, and road track of course!
Matt

The weather was not the best, felt like rain all day and the conditions were not the best for running on EMTs
Since Marc and I had the slower cars we were tasked with warming up the track for the faster guys, so that they could put some rubber down so that Marc & I could run (and chew it up for them).
Marc’s first run was a bit ugly but he only got a bit out of whack. His second was a low 12-second run. So, I figured ah what the hell and proceeded to get sideways on my first run and then went for more on the second and got really sideways when I shifted second……. They all though the day was going to end right there and then
…. with blue Corvette parts all over the wall (some of you may know that a few of my body parts work and some not so good particularly when I get cold, these guys not knowing my ability/disability though I was going to end their racing day, what they did not realize was that I needed to be warmed up just like the track.)I can provide quite a bit of entertainment driving through the staging lights when I don’t feel or miss the brake pedal, hit the gas and realize I missed the pedal, & I have reaction times like a cat……. one in critical condition.
Any way I did not mess up their day, Marc recorded a new personal best in his Corvette as well as several others of the group
and I finally warmed up and ran four consecutive 12.4s of which I am posting a slip below.
With only a CAI on base run flats
Once again thank you all for allowing me to provide some entertainment.
Tommy

The Best of Corvette for Corvette Enthusiasts

There we a few 12.65s on a very hot & humid day in October with 1.9 sixtys. It was cold & damp yesterday, If I had a driver mod, (that is a better driver) I am sure the car could have run at least 12.30 or better.
Every 12.4 run was made with the heater on full blast with the coolant temps about 192 - 195 to keep me nice and toasty so I would not scare the hell out of the rest of the guys deep staging by not stopping at the staging lights

Joe you know you're one of the best drivers around. Stop being moddest.

I've either got the b@lls or stupidity to launch my 05 at 4500 time and time again, walking the clutch out to prevent bog.Truth is, I am hoping when winter finally breaks (still 81 degrees at 10 pm on 12/14 !!) I should be able to drop a tenth or two more.
My best cam only so far was at Moroso in December 1 and 2000 DA, 1.782 60. 7.593 1/8 @ 93.92. 11.709@121.04. I'm not very proud of that. But I always run 11's now @ 120-121 very consistently.
Reviewing my spreadsheet, last December with bolt ons only and 2000 da I ran several 12.1@116 with high 1.7 60's, except for a couple of 11.99 and 11.98 @117 with 1.700 60's. My record bolt on times were in April with 1000 DA's and were about .2 and 2 mph faster at 1000 DA in April vs 2000 DA in December. So I am hoping for a 11.5 @ 123. Maybe 11.4 if I can get lucky.
So given all these numbers and hundreds of runs under my belt, you can see why I am quite impressed with fastwhiteC6's results. He's 3 mph faster than me in the 1/8 and 1/4, and I've got gears and the biggest cam you can fit. He is running c6Z06 times and H/C C6 times in a cam only C6. I asked in his thread if someone snuck some heads on his car while replacing his valve springs!
