Didn't realize you're on a completely stock diff, no hardened diff output shafts? I do believe that is a c6 m6 record!
No, but I have held up Larry's set in my hands, and man, are they light compared to MT tires.

Yes, everything is 100% stock back there with no brace. The only thing in the driveline that has been touched is the clutch.

yep, 6# each lighter than the MT 275/40/17. 12# savings for both.

Going out tonight Mark? My son and grandson I will be there.

I think so, Larry. I'll be there late, but I'll try to get out there. I have to get over to Wally's shop after work and box up the YSI kit, then I'm heading to Dallas in the morning. Best of luck on getting a new best!

Wow, 6lbs of rolling mass is a huge savings. Good to know, thank you

I'd say chances are VERY good that Larry will be coming home with a new best tonight.

Sure going to give it a try. Won't come close to you but hopefully I'll be good enough to close in on Tom's (HOXXOH) position.

Nylon belting vs. steel belting, wrinkle like a slick...goodluck tonight, hope you run a 9.73 or better

Hey congrats to all who recently posted new times. I've been too busy to get here lately and now trying to catch up.

I'm hoping Larry (8850) deep 6's my 10.82 tonight, so I'll have renewed interest. I had plans of going to the coast this weekend, but put it off for now.

I wish Larry the best tonight. What a horrific experience at the track for a racer. Never seen anything like it in 13 years of running my cars in Baytown. Saw some racers in line for 3 hours before running.

I hope the kids had fun Larry. I had a friend that took his kids out to the track, and he is a racer but hadn't been in years. I felt bad for him going out there and seeing how many people broke, back, to back, to back, and what a slow process it was. RPR will have a major backlash of supporters after tonight.

I didn't even bother after pulling in. I might have watched 15-20 races in 3 hours. Left the track at 10PM.

He had some very good air/DA so the potential was certainly there if he got enough passes in and hooked.

Ugh, sounds like one of 'those' type of nights at the track, I think we've all experienced them before.

Tom, your rein at #1 is still untarnished! My first pass was the only decent pass I got and it was only a 10.88. You remain the King bolt-on! Two following passes for some reason I could not get a decent burnout so lost traction on both. I got into the 6s on that first pass but not far enough. Only a 6.952. We won't even talk about the second two passes.

Thanks for the well wishes Mark. Sorry I didn't get to see you but with such a big croud I don't know who might have been there. I left before all the break downs as the lines were getting so long. My son's 88 n/a Mustang ran a 10.77. The grandson had a good time helping and watching.

Glad I left when I did from the way you describe what followed. I left before 8 pm.

And RPR was up to their old tricks. This time to my advantage. I got in the outside lane and went ahead of all those in the first two lanes. So disorganized!

Definitely good enough air to get the job done. About a -1100 DA. If I could get this A6 to shift the 3-4 I might have gotten the job done. It goes into lazy mode on that 3-4. Feels like it takes forever to start pulling again once it shifts. And this is only at the track after staging lanes and burnout. On the street where I test shift is fine.

Only?! Those are GREAT numbers man and still new bests. 6.9 and 10.8 in a (non Z06/non ZR1) bolt ons only Corvette is still an amazing feat, there's nothing 'only' about it!

Larry, that last burnout the wheels were not spinning fast enough it seemed. Hardly any smoke. Maybe tilt one of your mirrors down so you can see if the smoke is coming off the tires.

I couldn't seem to get the tires to spin. Not sure what I did wrong unless I just didn't get them wet enough. I have my mirrows so I can normally see smoke. Should have gone back and wet the tires again. I've been fussed at before for going back and taking too long so ended up not getting a proper burnout. Not sure I would have gone any faster though as the DA was pretty much the same. Also I need to do something to get my 3-4 to shift properly. It took .78 seconds longer on my logs at the track vs. on the street. Didn't lose that much et as it was making some power during the shift but not full power. And I can feel the difference. Something about the track my tranny doesn't like!

ONLY a 10.88? Oh come on Larry. 99% of all the racers there would give their left one for a 10.88. Damn strong run you should be proud of.

Take another shot at it next week. Maybe the crowd will be smaller and you can make more passes.

I've noticed some shifting issues at the track when the trans fluid temps were below 150. Make that one of your pids to scan.

I have to admit a 10.88, 10.888 actually, isn't all that bad for stock heads/cam and about 3200# or tad less race weight, but your 10.820 is better! LOL Scale wasn't working last night so not sure of weight.

I scanned two passes. Did not get my 10.888 but my tranny temp. on one pass was 163* at launch and 171* at the lights. The other 169 and 176. I've tried even higher temp on the street and shift is fine. Tried 100* on the street and it was fine. Don't believe the problem is temperature related.

Larry congrats again on the pass and sorry I missed it. I had my camera and all.

How the heck is your car 3200 pounds? Mine on the scales with 3/4 tank of gas is 3565 with me.

I'm 225 pounds. My blower might add 60 pounds?? My rollbar is probably 70 pounds. And my wheel/tire combo is probably 40 pounds more than yours if I had to guess(heavy fbody wheels out back with 295/45's MT's). Just trying to figure out how to get some weight out of the car.

Of course tires and wheels as you mentioned, light weight battery, front seat out, front sway bar off, base brakes (I have a Z51), almost empty gas tank and I weight about 90# less than you at 135. I have no roll bar. But look at your numbers vs. mine Mark. You don't need a light car to go fast and break records!

Really not bad on runflats on a cold night. You have an 11 second car for sure.
