Joe, they were 11.3's last year. I took out the pass. seat, added GTO skinnies and of course HP Sales added some Texas Speed milled Stage 3 "PRC" heads with a Cometic gasket and his tune. I got nearly 3.5/10's of a sec. with all this.

I can't get my 60' down. I never tried launching from idle. All my runs were launched at 1500 rpm. I think I may have to be satisfied with 1.6x 60' times with Yank 3200 stall.

Theofel (Mike) was there all night coaching me along. Of course he was running 10.8's all night.

Thanks Derrick. Thanks Justin.

Jeff

No your right. Maybe all I need is some better weather? I took out the front sway bar today. Maybe that will do it. The shift points were dead on. 6800 from 1st to second. I think it was closer to 7k on the 2nd to 3rd shift.
Thanks as always for all your help. I'm gonna need a tweek on warm start up from you. It's happening again since the latest tune.

Next cold day and you'll be in the 10's. Track got real damp and wet toward the end of the evening.

Thanks, Justin! No plans on upgrading the rear end right now. I went through quite a few on my Z06, but knock on wood, this one has been good to me. When it breaks, I'll probably add a built C5 differential to the car.

Thank you, Larry! Hope to see you out at the track soon. I got my number, and won't run again unless I upgrade the blower or tune the nitrous bottle on the car. I'm interested to see what it will run on a 75 shot spraying 2nd-4th gear. My tuner says it will add 100hp with the blower, so I think 146-148mph might get the car in the mid to low 9's.

Let me know when you head out next, and I'll try to come out and video and watch!

Mark, can you give a walk through on your launch? I see in the video you started to move for just a split second, then all hell breaks loose--apparently resulting in a 1.4x 60'. Right now, I can click off a 1.6-1.5 with relative ease but I'm wondering what it is you're doing that's getting you the extra oomph.

I'll be picking up a set of MTs tomorrow which I'm hoping perform better than the Toyo's I'm currently using.

TIA for the help.

I'm planning on next Friday. Prediction says it's going to be cold. If I can make a pass in -1000 DA I might throw up a new best. Just don't know how good.

I bet you will too. 150 mph maybe! Your car is putting down some numbers now.

See you Friday!

Mark told me at a 3500 launch he slips it until he feels the car going forward and then mashes it. Is that right mark?

I think you will like the MT tires, Justin. I have used Nitto, BFG, and MT and like them the best, but haven't tried Toyo. My launch technique is just like you said. I feel the car move, then do a hard slip on the clutch. I've kept the 60fts consistant and in the 1.60-1.62 range because of the amount of power my car has and being on the stock diff. That 1.4 pass, I told the guys around me that I was going to launch the car hard that pass for the first time. I probably wont do that again unless going for a new personal best.

I think you have it nailed down on driving. I think there is more than 1 way to launch these cars, and whatever works the best for you, I would stick with it.

Yes, Dan. That is correct. Just how I personally like to do it and I feel the most comfortable that way.

For optimum results and this is assuming you have the traction, adequate drive train and suspension, hold rpm a couple hundred below peak hp, at launch go full throttle, keeping full throttle, and work the clutch so you don't drop below peak torque and of course keeping off the rpm limiter. And if you can do that you are good! Very low first gear gearing helps make it work. And of course for best et you want to be WOT throughout the pass shifting 300-500 above peak hp. Your gearing should be such that you are 300-500 above peak hp at the finish line.

How is your car coming along Dan?

Sounds great Mark, thanks for the info. I can hit 1.5-1.6 consistently now so I feel pretty good about it. I'm excited to try the new tires and I also have a new secret weapon in the works (turbo kit) so ya, should be fun.

Congrats again on a monster of a daily driver.

I'll be picking up a set of MTs tomorrow which I'm hoping perform better than the Toyo's I'm currently using.

TIA for the help.
300 more hp lol...once you figure out how the track is hooking psi/rpm, you want to bring the clutch right up to the engagement point and accelerate into the launch keeping the engine from bogging and the nose from dropping

You haven't tried the Hoosiers yet So ultimate goal now is to need a parachute?
Didn't realize you're on a completely stock diff, no hardened diff output shafts? I do believe that is a c6 m6 record!
