I literally pulled it off in like 20 minutes to when I sold the car. I parked it in the sun for on hour and it came right off. Plastidip is amazing but I haven't come up with any uses for the Vette yet.

Very cool, thanks for sharing. I like that look a lot.

How far away did you hold the nozzle?

I would say I was around 12 inches away give or take a few inches. I didn't want to get too close but I also didn't want to spray it too fine.

I fixed it thanks Joe, Its a FTI 3200 and my new personal best sixty was 1.563 on one of my other passes. I don't think I can get any more out of it but I will try a set of skinnies next.

That's a great 60 for that relatively low stall!

Skinnies will help, you wait and see. They are a great mod.

All of you guys running into the 10s with cars really not that radically modified, how are you making out with the track management/safety crews without a roll cage!?

It's all about the money. If the track has a large audience and lots of participation, they can afford to be picky. Smaller tracks tend to "forget" to check stuff, especially during TNT sessions when the volume of paying customers is small.

NHRA/IHRA rules have always been directed at narrowly defined classes of competition. Due to a number of evolutionary changes, very few cars going down the track today fit in any specific class, so each track has created their own version of competition. However, to be a NHRA/IHRA member track they still group cars by the ET reference guides for required safety equipment.

The tech inspector is far more concerned with a young kid in a '90's import with nitrous who runs high 11's, than a mid-forties guy with a $50K Corvette bolt-on running low 11's.

A rollbar is just one of several, on the list of items supposedly required below 11.00, but it's the main one the tech guy wants to see.

I know all the guys/gals who run Bradenton Motorsports Park and hang out with some of them socially, outside of the track. I've never had an issue with running during TNT nights, or at big events for that matter.

That being said, I did get a 'talking-to' the last time I was at the track when it went 10.70s. I was asked to run N/T from now on, unless/until I get a roll cage and that they just want to see some effort from the 'fast street car' crowd. They understand not wanting to put a roll cage in my daily driver but they wanted me to have a fire jacket from now on and to make sure my times aren't displayed. I guess it's all about attitude and making friends with the track officials while walking the line between breaking the rules and staying safe.

Thanks.

315/35/17 Mickey Thompsons on c5Z06 fronts.

They will rub on standard C6 fenders, but not on Z06/Grand Sport wide fenders.

Wow Joe, I thought you were using the 275/40-17s still. Where have I been? I wonder if I would benefit from a wider tire like that? Obviously I don't have the rear widebody, but still, that makes me scratch my head. . .

I'm doing my 1.50 60fts with 40mm less rubber

Depending on the size of rim you're using or if you're having a traction problem, I'd recommend sticking with the narrower 275 as it's lighter and offers less rolling resistance while also being easier on the clutch

Very true. I was just giving Joe a hard time about needing or using bigger tires to cut that 1.44. I don't know Joe, I think you might need to step your game up just a bit.

Yea yea...want your car to get a 1.4? Give me the fob.

The 315's are more forgiving to a less than stellar prepped track I've found. But not worth the cost of a wide body. I don't think the extra weight is hurting me much.

Oh yes, on cut bushings. Here is a pic of my street setup, 345/295's. But with stock fenders on c5Z rims the 315's stuck out about an inch. I ran them; I just wore a little groove on them the two times I went up to the track with them. Oddly enough, they rubbed on freeway bumps at speed, I could smell the rubber. Didn't seem to rub at the strip from looking at the tires.
