I'm assuming the .96 map is no filter...hard to tell what the wot map was from the scan up top - what was it?

At 96 I think you have a restriction, did you de-screen your MAF? Might want to as I get 99-100 with my descreened MAF.

Looks to me like flashing up the converter from 2500 vs. 3500 was the ticket to the faster run, if the lower scan was the faster run.

Did you flash it up from idle? My auto friends find the best times flashing up from idle if the track will hold. Not good for a light but who cares in a PB run.

the first pic is the 10.68 log. I get better 60s by stalling higher at the light. on the 10.68 run I launched at 3440 and got 1.421 60' on the 10.81 run I launched at 2550 and had a 1.462 60' the 10.81 run was almost identical to last years PB in every aspect except the 60' was .03 slower than the 10.78 run which in my opinion was an exact copy. I have not descreened my MAF and I do have the stock accordion coupler in too. As you see I still have relatively weak MPH at 123. I actually ran 100.82 mph at the 660 on my 10.730 run. This thing runs like hell til its in high gear and then boohoo. Could the stock l76 intake be the restriction? and yes the 96-97 map was on the 10.68 run. I ran 4 runs from 10.81-10.84 in a row then pulled the air filter and ran 10.74, 10.74. 10.73. 10.68

Send me those two scans so I can take a look. I suspect you might be getting a restriction from your screen but I can't tell from the pictures, but the scan will tell me.

Regardless I'd take it out. You may need to rescale your MAF afterward, but probably not.

Have you tried flashing up from idle?

You have a lot of advance in that thing. I run 2+degrees less across the board. Of course I have AFR's but I recall people having good luck with less timing with your heads too. Have you tried running less, particularly down low? I got 12 rwhp+ from running less timing down low, 3500 or so I'm like 17 degrees from the top of my head.

Similarly I added fuel down low and it gave me power on the dyno, looks like you could stand to do the same, you're pretty lean in first gear.

What are you shifting at? I bet if you took it a little north you'd get a little better time, like 6800-6900 if you're comfortable with that.

Regarding correction factors:
Times are received from all over the country and are not corrected. Because track and weather conditions vary, this list ranking does not, and cn not, identify the fastest cars or drivers in any particular order. It only lists the recorded times, regardless of conditions, in order from quickest to slowest. In cases where ET is the same, the higher MPH determines list order. The bold numbers refer to the post number utilized to report the elapsed times in this thread.

Not that I've heard. I texted Joe yesterday but haven't heard anything back.

Sorry Justin got the text this morn and forgot to get back.

It's summer here gents. The cold front made it pleasant at the track but no records in 1300 da.

Still had a great time. Some vids here if you are interested.

That's kind of what I figured Joe. No worries. Bummer about the weather, but at least it was pleasant. I'm coming up on my 1 year of corvette ownership and I'd like to take the car back to the track for a 1 year anniversary and see just how far I've come in 365 days. Given the necessary mileage needed to break in the new clutch and rear, the timing should work out just right.

Hey guys. I'm new to the site and a new Corvette owner. I just purchased my 08 jetstream blue LT4 Vette. Today was the first day the drag strip opened for me near my house and I decided to take it to the strip. Car would be classified in your stock class. All original parts and still has street tires on it. My first run I ran a 12.4470 at 116.36 which I thought was pretty good considering the traction issue with street tires and what you guys have been saying on here about needing drag radials. Just thought I'd share my time and experience. Have a good one guys!

Thank you Thomasmoto. It's an 08 4LT automatic. Black and white interior with navigation and all that. It came from South Beach and I bought it in Ohio about a month ago. Its bone stock. I'll post pictures soon on my page and I'll also post a picture of the track slip. After reading the LS3 times on the first page of this post it looks like I'm middle of the pack for bone stock. I would have loved to get better times but as the morning went on it got warmer and for some reason my car kept spinning. Any suggestions for a better time I'm all ears!

Using stock tires:
*Approx. 30 psi (cold) air pressure i.e. stock air pressure.
*Do a good burnout, lots of smoke.
* "Secret" Do one dry hop (1000/1200 rpm launch) before lining up, picks up some of that sticky track rubber and/or two dry hops if the car spins on the first one.
* Launch between 1000-1200 RPM's

* "Bonus" Just light the second yellow bulb, that will go a long ways to putting down a good 60 ft. time.

There is only one reason you should listen to me and that is check my 60 ft. times out on the stock runflats in the 1/4 mile GS listings both stock and bolt-on, see the original postings.

Ok cool that's great. I lowered my air pressure to 20 psi in the rear. They tires I have on there dont really smoke but they spin pretty good. Maybe need to sit there longer if they aren't smoking? What do you mean by dry hoop? Meaning after burnout before the line do a quick launch at 1200 and then line up? I put the traction control to Competitive Driving Mode and let the car do the shifting. I figured that the computer could shift better than me opperating the paddle shifters. Thank you for the advice!

*I meant to say "hop" fixed it.
*Yes, you need to sit there longer on the burnout.
*Yes, you got what I meant by dry hoop.
*I have tried all the modes and now I just turn the traction control "off" for the burnouts and the 1/4 mile pass.
* Yes, let the car do the shifting, use D or S mode, believe in or not most of the time I use D, paddle shifting is slower than just letting the car do it's own shifting.
