Hi Tommy:

Could you please update me on the External Engine Modifications (Bolt-Ons) list?

My previous best time at my local home track was a 12.08 @ 115.48 +155 DA on 10/18/08. Yesterday's run was at opening day of the '09 season with no rubber on the track and on half a tank of gas. I actually hit 121.03 on my next run. DA was +437.

I want to thank my good friend dsp300c for all his help on my GTO skinnies.

I also owe a deep debt of gratitude to José at The Bone Yard

who provided me with a great tune that turned my ride into a rocket ride.

Also helping my new time a bit was a Spin ported and modded Fast 90. I am looking foward to hopefully breaking 11.50's with this current setup next time I (Have Deep Negative DA, Will travel ) go down to MIR.

Nicely done Siffert! Very similar to my results from the FAST - 2 mph is a solid gain, and like you said, with some better traction or perhaps fresh tires you'll get .2 for your 11.5 slip! That is very fast for your limited mods.

Thanks...and thanks to you for all your help on the Fast washers and 0-rings...otherwise I would be still be scratching my head.

Good job man, that's definitely a bigger improvement/gain than the mere .05 shows on paper due to the different track/different time of year variables, almost two full MPH is serious. An 11.5 (or better?) at lower altitude is definitely attainable as the car sits.

it doesn't mater how you got it, tune spin mod fast or a 100 mph tailwind, you did it

Please see page 1 post # 6 for instructions & rules

THE LIST

Regarding correction factors:
Times are received from all over the country and are not corrected. Because track and weather conditions vary, this list ranking does not, and can not, identify the fastest cars or drivers in any particular order. It only lists the recorded times, regardless of conditions, in order from quickest to slowest. In cases where ET is the same, the higher MPH determines list order.

Hey Gary (have lower DA will travel)

Wow great improvemnet

I guess you will have to make another trip to MIR next fall or you could take a detour and visit with the marx brothers & crew

Hey Tom

Not bad for 1480 above sea level

The difference in times is due to torque management kicking in on launch, can not be tuned out.

Finally 11's. It's tough to get great times at 1480' elevation in the desert, but when the DA gets down to the +1300' area we try to take advantage of the gift.

I'm trying to understand why on the left slip, I had a .023 quicker 60', but lost that and another .005 by the 330'. Then continued to lose another about .015 every 330' in comparison to the right slip. The DA was within 60' run to run and I had no noticable spin.
Any ideas or just a fluke?

nice runs, your loss could be a few things, TM, false knock, or even the water temp was a couple degrees higher, like over 189 and less than 189, that would pull timing if not changed in the tune, and even da could change that much in that time frame, also clouds vs sun and wind

I also owe a deep debt of gratitude to José at The Bone Yard who provided me with a great tune that turned my ride into a rocket ride. Also helping my new time was a Spin ported and modded Fast 90. I am looking foward to hopefully breaking 11.50's with this current setup next time I (Have Deep Negative DA, Will travel ) go down to MIR.
Nice job Gary! a .34 and 5 1/2 mph improvement is awesome with just the addition of a ported fast, fresh tune and some skinnies. In the fall at MIR I predict a 11.44@123.9. Take a mental note of that and save it for when you post your new best up here this fall.

Congrats on getting into the 11's! I had fun hanging out with you and RGSTOY despite the lock in at the track

It was fun that all 3 of us ran our best times in AZ! See you soon. Time for a roll bar for me.

Thanks for the accolades guys. After 4 months of 12.1x and 12.0x, including 3 passes at 12.01, finally getting a slip that starts with an 11 is a big relief. I can survive all summer now, just knowing I'm over that hurdle.

Congrats on your PB. I always thought Thompson was kind of a tough track because it's uphill to the 1/8th and then back down to the end.

Yes, my track is tough and the surface really ratty. That's why its rarely crowded...40-50 cars is an unusually busy day there. Another benefit is it opens fairly early in the season and closes fairly late when the weather is still cold. As you and I know, lower DA will always triumph, even at a ratty track.
