I would like to know what techniques some of you guys are you using to get in the 12's stock, I tried all kind of variations traction on/off.
Comp mode etc. any insight would be appreciatted.
This was my first time to the track in Baytown TX and drag racing period, I had a fantastic time despite not hitting under a 13 second run. I did manage to win all 6 runs against the cars I was racing against and had one reaction time of .103.

Just some quick/simple tips...traction control OFF, run low fuel (around a 1/3 to a 1/4 tank, a quality brand premium grade only), do a strong burnout (if you're spinning which it looks like you were with that 2.07 sixty foot) and try to run on the cooler days/nights, you will see 12s soon.
Your just looking to get banned...This list is ran by Tommy D, not you, follow his rules and i am sure your times will appear, or start your own thread with your own list and stop with the hyjacking.
This was my second trip to Thompson Raceway Park which closed down for the season today. Weather was almost the same from two weeks ago (49 degrees, humidity 49%, Altitude 1250, Pressure 30.08). Unlike two weeks ago when there were only 15 cars there (got 5 runs in 1/2 hour) there were 100+ so no quick hot lapping.
Only changes from two weeks ago was upping my fronts tires from 42 to 45 lbs, dropping my rears from 28 to 24-25, widened my propped shroud opening from 1.5" to 3.25" and disabling TM "Upshifts" with my new HP Tuner.
Normally my first run usually stinks, but this first run was a 12.619 @112.86 (1.964). I kinda eased into the throttle from idle launch on this run. My second run was the best of the day, 12.545 @114.010 (1.995) as I stomped on the gas from idle launch. I was hoping to break into the 12.4's but from there it was downhill (12.65's) for two more runs as the track started going away.
For the first time I was finally and consistently breaking into the 60' 1.9's which I attribute to a)launching from an idle and b)running 24-25 lbs hot on the rear tires). I figure turning off the TM "upshifts" was worth about 1 to 1.5 tenths of a second. My Modular Depot corrected time was Density Altitude 777 feet, 12.44 @114.94. Many thanks again to Glennhl for his help/advice and particularly turning me on to the HP Tuner.

Hi Tommy:
07 A6 - Catback, propped shroud, stat, tune
Absolutely great runs for an almost stock car!!!! Silver cars are always the quickest.

Marc (LS1LT1) pretty much covered the basics. How were you launching the car and how much air was in the rear tires.
Very nice numbers for your first time
Wow, your trap speeds are really all over the place, have you really trapped as low as 115+mph and as high as 119.5mph with the same set of mods and all in the same week?
Yes, the second track day, traps increased as the humidity and temp dropped. Last three runs were 117.9, 118.8, 119.0
Still getting used to launching this car, only have 10 passes. I was getting better though, last three runs were also all 2.1 60's.
The first track day was better weather and I only got three runs in, trapped 119.5, 118.1, 119.5.
Yeah weather can certainly make a difference but I've normally only seen that kind of disparity (over 4mph in your case) when going from like July to December weather changes or through major mod changes of course, just seems odd that the weather from one day to the next could make that much of a difference in traps but I guess it can.
Of course the launch/sixty foot/level of wheelspin can affect trap speeds as well but normally that applies more to a manual than an automatic.
I'm certainly not questioning your numbers but when I see odd/major swings like that I often wonder just how accurate/or how 'NHRA approved' the timing equipment is. I mean I'm the last person to be questioning stock/near stock automatic trap speeds, I've hit one of the highest (if not THE highest) stock LS2 trap speeds out there (115.91mph...and automatics typically trap much lower than manuals) and at the time I too thought that there was no way my car could do that so then I wondered about the timing lights.
But hey, if the time slip says it then it has to be true.

I really don't have a lot of faith in the timing equipment for trap speeds, especially after I ran yesterday at the strip! On my first two runs of the day, the mph was insanely off, it said 335.32 mph on my first run, and 564.61 mph on the second run!!

Those C5s tend to pick up a lot of power once their broken in.

that 564.61 does definitely make you the fastest c5
I looked at this time slip and compared it to your others run on the same day, and the car number on this slip appears to look different than the ones on these submitted in this thread for 10/26/07.
Most of them look like car 213 this one looks like 216 ????
...
Also, can anyone read the car number of the first and last yellow slip in the top row here. I am having a tough time making it out.
The first yellow, I believe is #232 because I can make out the trap speed and ET and it matches the large yellow #231 slip. The last yellow in that top row I am thinking is #216 because the numbers I can make out from it match the larger #216 slip.
Pretty good mph Pat! I am planning a trip to the track today. Don't think I'll reach quite the 500 mph range but hopefully somewhere in the 100 range. Unfortunately the temperature for today is suppose to be 82*. Don't expect I'll run a best today.

I thought about going out to the track tonight as well, but decided not to because of this weather. I did run the back roads over to Sugarland this morning for a cup of coffee - sure was a LOT of fog on the way out back down 1462 from Alvin and 762 to Greatwood!

It only felt like 550 mph honestly.
I wish there were some C6s at the track yesterday! It wasn't the best conditions I've seen, as the humidity was a bit high and barometer a bit low, but it was only in the mid 40s. DA was about -25 feet (not as good as the -1300 feet when I ran my 12.8 last fall)
An 08 running at sea level DA should have no problem running 12.0s to 12.1s. I'm still waiting for some more guys with 08s to report in this thread! Where are all the bone stock 08s on here?
