Nice runs 8850

Glad I didn't go out last night. I'm still waiting for a little cooler weather and less humid.

Yeah, very nice runs 8850...I wish I could've seen you run, but I was busy waiting in one of the 3 VERY long staging lanes :grumbles:

Any idea why so many last night? I have been on many Sundays where you can almost hot lap.

I should have waited. Don't know how humid it was at the track but visibility was a little hazey or foggy so the humidity had to be fairly high. Weatherunderground said only 73% but don't know where that is recorded.

yeah I typically get as many runs as I want on sundays.

I think the track in sealy is closed right now...so all the sealy guys are coming out here maybe.

Other than that I have no idea why so many last night...it isnt like the air was that great...

I would like to be added to the list.

I guess I have to be external engine mods because I have mufflers

1.98 60'
5.49 330'
8.30 1/8 @ 89mph
10.7 1000'
12.74 1/4 @ 112mph

2007 A6 with borla stinger mufflers (stock h-pipe)
DA was ~1000 with 75 degrees, 75% humidity and pressure around 30.15

Edit - if you need the 330, 1/8th and 1000' taken to the 1000th then I will post it up when I get home to the slip...the 1/4 was 12.74 though.

Edit x2 - not to be picky, but these two guys are in reversed order

11.98 @ 116.44 - C6speedjon - 07 Z51 M6 -CAI, catback, headers, ported intake, TB, tune Dr
11.94 @ 117.99 - JimSpeed - 06 Z51 M6 - CAI, catback, headers

Yeah I figured it had to be something, he will easily exceed 119mph as the cooler/dryer air comes in.

While I'm sure that many of us could come to agree that a mere muffler swap only could or should NOT be grounds for being forced on to the external mods/bolt ons list, it is unfortunately still a power related mod.
And Stingers are known to be pretty good too, some might even argue that they offer the ever so slightest of advantages over stock as well.
But congrats either way.

I wasnt trying to make an argument to get into the stock list...just grumbling that I shouldnt have changed the mufflers until I pushed the car as far as I could stock

Maybe in the dead of winter I'll swap the stockers back on to make a few passes and see how high I can get on the stock list.

Patrick, Cooler air should give me a little more. Ready for it too! I ran the ac on the way to the track last night.

Tony B4, Yes, I consider my tune safe for street. I would not run with TM disabled however. And as I've metioned I need to bump up my AFR just a tad at the upper rpms.

Nice run!

Send me a PM the next time your heading down there and I'll try to make it. I haven't ran at HRP so it would be nice to have some "locals" to pick up tips from.

Would be fun to meet up or even with a group of locals from Corvette Forum. Next time I go out the air has to be better than last night though. Hopefully some nitrous air coming soon.

My runs support this fact. Ran 118.8 mph w/ 434 rwhp & 402 rwtq. Should be at 120.

Anyone gonna go racing next Sunday? I just can't take the crowds.

First pass of the night (11.894 et) is w/TM enabled. Second TM disabled. Logged minimal KR in the upper rpm. Need to add a little fuel there but this is about the best this automatic is going to do with a 77* IAT w/73% humidity. Unless I can find a way to eliminate launch TM. No loss of traction noted on either pass.
Hey Larry,

Way to go very strong runs........ & maybe a bit more with a little more fuel up top
