CATs are necessary anywhere in this country, however even if we install the CATs thats included in the header system we are still breaking the law technically. Because the law states that for one, installing headers themselves moves the CAT to a different location other than where car maker validated the engines emissions standards at. Another law states that the CAT isn't to be replaced unless its defective, and then it has to be a OEM or equal peice. But that is just a technicallity.

Hey Tommy, thanks for keeping me straight...technically.

Spin,
You are right on, that's what I was told by my tuner.

P.S,
Thanks also for your insight and experience you have on the cars! I am a novice at these new cars with all the computers and such and you seem to put it all down so it's understandable. Very much appreciated here!

I am aware that they can indeed increase emissions, but it is my hope that the tuner can do some magic before the test. I had to do the same thing years ago with my '69 Hemi Charger (before the laws changed) and had to IMMEDIATELY change back to a more streetable tune. But seriuosly with about 2500 Summer and Fall miles since that work and NO smell whatsoever. Honest INJUN!

From what I understand the exhaust stink comes when you don't install the CATs
