Default tire recommendation

Hey guys! Putting some new rims and tires on the 08 C6 next week after getting car back from LGM, and we are thinking of going with the Michelin Pilot Sport PS2 (305/30/19 rear & 265/35/18 front). Anyone have any direct experience with these tires and would you recommend them over the Good year OEM. Also, any other particluarly great tire? Want a stickier tire but not something to drag race with. Thanks.

The BFG KDW2's seem to be well rated.

any other good performance tire out there is going to be better than our run craps, but I prefer the peace of mind with them, in the event of a nail or 2 in the road, or screw for that matter

I'll take the performance hit and stay with the run flats

I agree! I just put them on mine two weeks ago and the only regret is not doing it sooner!

I too, can vouch for the BFG's. I put them on my vert. last Fall and the ride and handling are significantly improved. My only complaint is they are noisier than I would like. Maybe it's the colder air and the amplifying effect of the top when it's cold outside.

What rim size are you going with. I had an 9.5 on the front and the 265didn't fit as well, not wide enough, may depend on the rim itself. Went with the 275 and it was a much better fit. 305 on a 11' rim worked well.

I've had the PS2's now for about 6 months. They ride great, quiet with good traction. Just, DO NOT drive them when the temps get cold (under 40). They sux. Cost me two wheels and a cut rear tire just this Saturday. I was lucky. Could have been worse. Can't beat them when it's warm.

Not really the run flats are surprizingly very good IMO.

Go for the PS2s. They are expensive but worth it. The BFG KDW2s are not in the same league.

I'm going to vote for the PS2's myself. I have heard some good things about the new Nitto Invo's but we have not had any experience first hand with them.

Okay. PS2's it is. Just purchased them with delivery tomorrow and they were a bit pricey. Tire rack was on back order for a month so had to go to a local dealer who happen to have them and had to pay several hundred more as a result. But hey, if you want them on demand, you gotta pay. Now, the wait to try them out after we get the car back from LG Motorsports. Thanks so much for all the input from all you guys We will keep the OEM tires and polished alum rims for back-up.
