Two weeks ago I go to start the Vette and it is totally dead. It had been driven two days prior! So I charge it up and today I go to start it up to install the "Priority Start" that I just purchased and you guessed it, not even a blinking light on the door! Yes, it was in reverse! I'm ready to send the Priority Start back and go buy a new car. Damn I hate this!!
Time for a deep breath.....I've heard good things about the priority start but until it's installed I guess it won't help much.
I'd say you have a few choices, charge it up again and install the priority start and see how that works out for you.
Return the priority start and pick up a good charger like the CTEK 800 and plug that in when you're not driving the car (if you park it some where with 110 V access?)
Or sell the car.
You are not alone with your frustration, but many have found relief with either an Optima battery, a priority start, a CTEK charger, or simply driving everyday for at least half an hour. Good luck!
charging a dead battery is not going to work. The ability for a recharged battery to hold a charge is greatly decreased after a dep charge is done. Before you do anything--GET a NEW battery.
seperate the car & the fob(dont keep the fob near car) because they will search for each other & drain battery!!!! if kept apart they stop searching, no battery drain. Ive seen this posted many times, try it.

Or, find and fix the root cause of the battery discharge.
If you have not had the RCDLR module reprogrammed, you may what to have that done.
You need to get the flash, because just because you think it is reverse, the car doesn't.
GM puts a good battery in the car, but if it is drained dead several time, it will not bounce back, like an Optima.
Did the "Flash" in August as a precaution. If the priority start kicks in I'm going to have to check the battery, I just looked and the battery was replaced in Aug. 07 because it had gone dead on me a few times. The dealer said it had a dead cell back then. A battery should last more than 17 months. Anyone one know if the battery would be under warranty??
PriorityStart is a great device. I installed one on my '05 before the DBS reflash was available. Just make sure you install it on a good fully charged battery. PS is not a charger/minder/tender (whatever), but it will disconnect your battery if it drops below 11.7 volts. When that happens use the key to get in, hit the cigarette lighter to re-connect the battery, and start the car. Never stranded.
If PS kicks in all the time then it's time for a new battery. BTW the battery is covered under warranty.
The only caution is that if you leave the doors open or hood open (etc.) without the car running, the power drain from the lights will drain the battery below 11.7 PDQ and PS will disconnect the battery. No problem but could be a pita.
I feel your pain and while the priority start gizmo may help, I think more importantly you should consider buying a new battery. I know its only been a year since you replaced the last one, but if its a factory/GM battery, there are lots of bad...or soon to be bad ones on the market. Sometimes your just better off eating a few bucks and buying a quality product - consider an Optima yellow top. your call, but hopefully everything will get sorted out sooner verses later. nothing worse than not being able to count on your car to crank.
I had similar problems like you too with the oem battery. I ignored Shopdog forum member telling me the Priority Start was a waste of money as it also drains the battery at a good clip. I bought one anyways and guess what? My battery still croaked on me time and time again! Sorry Shopdog. So I finally got smart and ditched the oem battery and Priority Start. Once your oem battery dies on you a few times it will not bounce back.
I bought myself an Optima Yellow Top a year ago and have had NO problems starting my car even when sitting for 3 weeks at a time. I do have a battery tender....a Battery Minder Plus which does desulphate the battery so I'll eventually start using it on my Optima...though it really does not need a tender either.

I purchased an Optima Yellow Top D34 battery for my '07 Vert and have never had a problem. My vert sometimes sits in the garage for 3½ weeks at a time without a battery tender and starts right up without any problems. IMHO, the Optima Yellow Top is a great battery!
Gee, a 2005 M6 with a dead battery. Never heard of that happening before. My battery lasted 2 years and I had to have it replaced. Also, have them do the PCM/ECM update if you haven't had it done. Might save some headaches later on. I drive mine everyday and had it completly drain twice before it killed the battery.
It was hard to find for me. I finally got mine locally from Autozone on a special order. It was a D35 model for my 2007 Coupe-You need a D34/78 for a 2005 I think) and paid $224.00 with tax and gave them my oem battery. Only down side is the Yellow Top has only a one year warranty but that didnt bother me. I got a Red Top in another car, still running great after 5 years.
Here is a good website by member Bugman about Optima's (though I dont agree with his love for Priority Starts). Just click on "Optima" on the right hand side.
