Default OEM ****er Removal
Hi Everyone:
Well...my new MGW shifter installation gets closer each hour. Thanks to some good help from members, I now have the console off and have taken all the mounting bolts off the OEM shifter. I assumed the four main 11m mounting bolts would simply allow me to "lift" the shifter assembly right off. But the GM shifter doesn't want to part company....Am I missing something or is it "sealed" somehow to frame and I just need to muscle it off?

Just pull it off. The gasket is probably stuck.

Thats all it is - use a screwdriver or putty knife to break the gasket seal - it should pop right off.
