My concern too on going this route, vs KDW2s 295/35-19 which is 27 tall vs 26.3 on the PS2. It's not the width that makes it look funny it's the size of the sidewall, 30 is 30% of the width of 305mm, 30% of a 325mm tire translates to more sidewall. The only thought I've had to lower the rear further than I already have, because realistically the stock tires are 26.9 -26.3 is about a 1/2" resulting in a 1/4" deficit in the fender well space to the tire, thus by lowering there rear 1/4" effectively would eliminate the visual effect.

Check out the math:

285/35-19, 285 x .35 = 99.75mm sidewall (GYSCRF)

295/35-19, 295 x .35 = 103.25mm " (KDW2)

305/30-19, 305 x 30 = 91.5mm " (PS2)

325/30-19, 325 x 30 = 97.5mm " (GYSCRF)

IMO the more tire filling the fenderwell the better the look, unless you lower the car dramatically to fill the gap which looks good too, but comes w/ some tough sacrefices. Check out a 19/20 combo w/ low profile tires w/ the car slammed & it looks really good, but it then dwarfs the rotors along with tougher ride.

Got the 305s. IMO most folks are likely to get an urge to lower after mounting them to rid the car of the 4x look. Once lowered the wheelwells have a very nice "stuffed" look to them.

I went with the Nitto Invo's in 305/30/19 and the 255/35/18 in the front. The overall height compared to stock is really close. Won't affect ABS or anything and the speedo is 1.5mph at 80 I believe. The ride quality is much better than the runflats. I can't really report on the traction as it is so cold here in Wyoming and the tires were put on in November. But soon I will be able to test it out. The tires have rave reviews and are priced right so do yourself a favor and check them out!!

I agree, Mike. My speedo is dead on still, the look is like another car we've seen around (the Z06) runs that size tire, so it retains the original look, which is part of what I was after.

I also thought about lowering the rear if I went with the 305, but then the stance of the car might be different, and my headlights would shine higher if the rear was lowered disproportionately (no big deal to adjust, but it did cross my mind).

I did not want a 19/20 combo, because the roads here in CO can be rough, and have RR tracks and potholes. Not enough sidewall for me.

I probably way overanalyzed the whole thing, as I tend to do, but in the end, I'm glad I did it how I did.

As more tires become available in a 325/30/19, I'll have more choices if I decide to try something other than the SCRF.

When you get your swap done, post up photos, I'd like to see them.

Default dumb question

Can you increase tire size on stock rim sizes (06 Z51)?

Do a search, I've seen several posts w/ pics. They look very good & to be honest, after all this analysis, my head hurts, & I think I'm going to just get the KDW2s & be done w/ it!

I don't believe you are going to find any 305X35X19 tires, however there are 305X30X19 available. On stock rims I believe 255X40X18 is the max width you can go safely on the front. The Tire Rack would be a great source of technical info on this subject give em a call 1-888-541-1777.

If you lower the rear and don't lower the front proportionately your car will become unstable at high speeds. A lot of the Corvette's high speed stability comes from the rear being higher than the front, producing downforce.

3. Put 325's out back.
4. ENJOY!

285 vs. 325:
So would you be able to keep the stock size up front (245/40/18) and put the 325s on the back without messing with the computer? Also what size 325? 325/xx-xx

EDIT: I guess the only tire that size is goodyear. What has your experience been? I know it is bigger and should give better traction but those tires suck stock. I'll probably just go with something 305/30-19 because there are more options.

Default Michelin PS2 305/30-19 on the rear and 275/35-18

I put Michelin PS2 305/30-19 on the rear and 275/35-18 on the front. They fit the stock wheels just fine. Both front and rear stock wheels are 1/2" less than the recommended width, but that is just 1/4" on each side and you cannot visually tell the difference.
The larger front and rear tires look like they came on the car. No DIC warnings with this combination.
The first thing you will notice is the car rides much better and really sticks when you are on the throttle.
