Rear hatch question.
I have an 08 coupe,,was wondering,,when you close the rear hatch,,should it close automatically when you put it down and it first makes contact with the latching mechanism,,,seems I have to apply a fair amount of pressure to have it close by itself.

You have to give it a little push. Normal.

2008s do not have the auto hatch lock, its been discontinued. Crack a window or door, it'll help if you relieve some of the air pressure.

If you have so much trouble closing the hatch that you need to relieve pressure from the car to make it easier then you have a lot bigger problems on your hands

Auto-pull down when the hatch is almost closed?

Could it be that some '08's have it and some don't? A mid-year change perhaps?

Rather than push mine, I pull it down with a little force and let it drop by it's own weight so the latch mech catches and pulls it shut.

The Z06 and Convertible don't have it, the Coupe does.

You do need to apply some force before it will pull it down automatically. Then again, that feature only works about 85% of the time for me and I hear that's a good average.
