Wanna upgrade the ol' gal, either on the outside or inside, but I'm awash in ideas. Any of you have tales to tell of 2k exceptionally well spent on your c6? Gratzi.
You can get a lot for $2000 or just a little bit over that.
Our Stage 2 C6 Power Package is $1995 and includes aFe high-flow air filters, Champion Iridium spark plugs, MSD 8.5mm Super Conductor wires, 180 degree performance thermostat, PCM programming, CORSA XO-pipe, and CORSA Sport system.
Or if you are looking for the best headers on the market Kooks 05-08 LS2 & LS3 FULL LENGTH "STEPPED" HEADERS are an excellent choice, and you will still have some $$ to play with, perhaps for a crossover pipe.
As stated above, 4.10's are great bang for the buck, and well under $2K. We build all of our differentials in house, and offer many different C6 Differentials depending on your application.

REALISTICALLY, what kind of HP gains would i see from adding headers?
4.10s are a nice gear upgrade to the stock 3.42s gears (assuming you have a MN6. If you have an A4 than we recommend upgrading from the stock 2.73s to 3.42s). Without going into the engine you will drop your 1/4 mile ETs by around 3 tenths by changing the gears alone. The cost of doing this is also nice at $1395 Installed for a MN6 gear swap.
4.10 gears really give a snap to your car. Are they right for everyone No, but for many street drivers and 1/4 mile cars they are a nice improvement.
feel free to PM me with any questions about ECS or any mods you maybe considering.

Can't go wrong with a set of LG Pro Long Tube Headers!
HP and Torque per $ you will not see a better gain to do to the car other than nitrous.
Systems are made by Borla from 304 Stainless Steel, throughout so they will last. Installation can be done at home, with basic hand tools, or we can suggest one of our dealers around the country.

My 2 cents worth...
I did:
Vararam CAI, bought used, for $280
Kooks Headers. Now, I went the extra mile and had mine first JetHot ceramic coated, then I also got the 3" dual catted X-Pipe. This set me back about $1600, but you could get a basic system for about $1200.
Charlie a RPM motors tuned this combo to make just shy of 400 to the wheels; a 60HP gain over stock.
The tune and headers was the best money Ive ever spent on my car. The intake helps too, but is not essential.
Interior wise, Id get rid of that stupid little plastic wedge GM calls a gas pedal, and install a Sat/Nav if you don't have one...
Exterior wise my only mods are a tint and red powdercoated brake calipers.
