Manual Shifter Difference
Anybody measure the difference between the C6 Z06 shifter and the regular C6 shifter.
I bought (used) what I was told was a Z06 shifter. Now that I had the regular shifter out, I didn't see any measured difference.
So either I got hosed w/o a kiss or there isn't any difference.
Anybody .....

From what I've read, there's no difference...Cept bragging rights. Do yourself a favor and put an MGW in....

From a post on CAC:
"The C6 Z06 shifter housing is solid mounted, and the non Z06 housings (C6 that I have seen) are rubber mounted."

The C6 shifter has rubber isolators where it bolts to the torque tube. The Z06 shifter is solid, resulting in a more precise feel, but has a greater tendancy to vibrate.
The Z06 shifter has been updated earlier this year with different damping materials in the shifter lever itself, which helped the vibration issue.
Here's the base of the C6 shifter
Heres the Z06

Yeah...If it flops around like a dead fish when removed, it's just like the standard C6....

So the difference is in the base and not the handle assy. What I got is the handle assy.
Oh well, I've learned something for the future.
Thanks for the help.
But now when someone does a search this thread will come up and hopefully educate them.
