Default Exhaust back fires need help

I have a 2006 corvette with a lot of modifications. I have a Corsa exhaust and widened CATs. I'm running about 456rwhp. I like the exhaust when im hitting the gas but when im not hitting the gas they back fire and dont sound that great. I would like an exhaust that would just give a nice even tone when coasting I was wondering if anyone had any advice.

Are you talkin about the popping you get when you're on the gas and then completely let off the gas and coast it? I LOVE that popping sound, but yes it can be tuned out if you dont like it.

Thanks George, I thought it could be tuned out. My 91 ZR1 did the same thing after header install. Sent the chip to Marc Haibeck for tuning and all was good, no popping or crackle on decell. How's the Maggie install coming?

Well, im ready to go but gonna hold off until may. Spinmonster is going to come down for another visit and I'd really MUCH rather have his tune on it than any other. So, I'm just going to install it a couple days before he gets here and then let him have at it. The wait is killin me though, I want it NOW!! I'll keep you guys updated!!

I would bet if you tune it out you will lean out the engine and probably give up a few ponies. JMHO

Not really because you will only lean it out on the off throttle, which is where the popping occurs.

When my deceleration popping gets too loud, I just give it a little shot of gas and it stops popping.

That being said, along with the popping on the 'off throttle/deceleration,' I complained several weeks ago at the throttle lag from the time I come off the gas pedal to the time I feel the car decelerate. I have the feeling the two issues of popping and throttle lag are related. When I really get on it, say 2nd gear up to 6000 rpm and then just come off the gas pedal, the popping is significant. I think it is OK at the race track but not going through town. Love my headers, xpipe and corsas, but I'm ready to have someone change the tune and tone down the popping.....even if it costs a couple of ponies.

Amen to that Vic, are you going to take it to Corvette Connection? Let me know how it turns out.
