Default brakes issue

Have had the car for a little over a week now (05 C6 A4 with 36K miles) and after leaving the dealership I noticed when they are warm, the brakes squeal pretty badly.

I'm ok with having to replace pads and/or rotors, but just yesterday I was crusing down a long, steep hill and at part throttle got up to 100-110...after I let off (and had not pressed the brake yet) the ABS light comes on, and the DIC tells me ABS malfunction, check TC, check AH.

Everything is functioning properly still...but pressing the TC button does nothing, and I didn't get a chance to test and see if the ABS was still working or not.

I get to my destination, turn off the car, come back a few hours later and all is well again. No warnings, TC and AH still disable/enable fine.

Is this something to worry about? Thanks for any input you guys can offer.

Dont fool around with brakes. Theres something wrong somewhere. Bring it back to the dealer ASAP and have them find the problem. The longer you wait theyll try to not accept responsibility.

Do a search here, others have had major issues when the DIC displays ABS malfunction, check TC, check AH as you stated. If not operating properly it could cause the car to pull suddenly in eather direction. This could be dangerous, especially in traffic.

Thanks. Does it need to be the same dealer I purchased it from? It happens to be a Chevrolet dealership in another city.

Or can I just make an appt. with a local dealership (anyone in Austin recommend?).

Thanks! Found some good threads on this. I think I really lucked out on this one. I had both TC and AH disabled when this happened.

Based on these posts, if I had TC/AH enabled, I might have either veered off the side of this steep hill at 110 or into oncoming traffic.

Looks like I need to take it into the dealer ASAP.

Get the car checked at a dealership.

A break-in period doesn't appear to be a concern but (and I'll say it anyway), don't drive 110 mph on a public road. There are many available venues where you can get your car onto a road course and really learn how to drive (and satisfy that need for speed at the same time). Sermon over.

No break in period, it's an 05 with 36k miles on it.

Done the driving school courses, done the road racing tracks, I have confidence in my abilities and know my limitations. That's why I'm glad I prefer AH and TC off in dry weather conditions and in this situation it seems like it might have saved a potentially bad incident from happening.
