Hey guys/gals. I'm having an issue with my hood light. I thought it was just burnt out, but I bought a replacement today and its still not working. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Did you replace the hood light assembly or just the bulb? You could use a test light or DVOM to see it you have +12v to the light assemble with hood open. If you do have +12v, and the bulb is a NG bulb, then the hood lamp assemble may have failed.
If that does not help, you can always trade it in for a 2009.

I replaced just the bulb. We will try what you have suggested.
If you have 12 volts at the light assembly, clean off the bulb contact points in the assembly and check for a bad ground by hooking up a temporary ground wire.
No, they deleted the hood light with the 2007 model year.
100% true but you can add the light if you want it as they left the electrical connection on the car. It has a dummy plug to seal off the ends to avoid corrosion. I installed the hood blanket and it had the "option" for a light so I added the light.
I wanted to purchase a under hood insulator that had the C6 logo in color. So I bought one.
To my suprise when it arrived it had the hole for a hood light. So then my next purchase was the hood light assembly. It only cost $30 or so. The insulated hood insert was much, more.
