I got out to Buttonwillow roadcourse this past Sunday for a full day of ripping!!!
I got five sessions on the track, here are two clips from some of the action!
I want to thank Charlie at RPM Motors for putting a nice safe tune on the car! It was 90 outside, and a bit warmer on the track. I drove the car 135 miles there on my Nitto NT-01s, raced all day on them, then drove home in one piece. A good day in my book!!!
I ran a 2:07 lap time on my last session chasing the Porsche GT3.
I know this is the C6 section, and while I was not driving my C6 this day, I thought some of you might like these videos...
I agree, the cam could be a bit higher but good stuff!
I've never posted my track videos before. I moved the little videocam I use from a 'precarious' dash mount to my harness bar...now I get way too much wind noise. I tried masking off the mic but I have to find something better...it still sounds like a hurricane.
Wow, great vid..that little yellow GT3 with 415 naturally aspirated was sure agile against your 775rwhp supercharged c5..JS what gives?
No offense my friend just wondering why you couldn't pull on him, since you have 300 + hp advantage....
Bare in mind I have no track experience, but an experienced street racer..
Thanks!
The Driver of the GT3 was very experienced on that track. Buttonwillow is not really a big HP track, it's more of a driver's track. There were some miatas out there doing pretty well.
It was 90 degrees out, and the track temps were much hotter. I was short shifting on the straights to try and keep the temps down. There is a lot more to roadracing then just HP...
